Short urban shaded trail near residential homes with a nice view of Mt Hood on a clear day. Moderate elevation change with a mix of dirt and rocky path types on the SW 3 trail. Dog friendly trail . The whole park can be done less than 2hrs, and parts of the trail connects to a bigger trail that continues outside the park. There's 2 picnic tables. Free City Street parking with 2hr limit signs.

George Himes City Park isn't huge but once you are in it, it still feels very secluded, with tall trees in the valley and a dirt trail without the sense of urbanity. I always come from Terwilliger Boulevard and run across the park to get to the waterfront. The Marquam trail is easy to follow (there are two segments of stairs) and eventually leads to S Iowa St.

A great little park tucked into the forest and hills. Great for runners, families who want to go on a walk in the area, and if you want a fitness cut through from Terwilliger to Corbett. You’ll find all kinds of cool plants and lots of pacific sideband snails during certain seasons so watch where you step or you’ll hear a sad little crunch!
