I had forgotten that there was a 2 night stay minimum and when our 99 year old friend took a turn for the worse we knew we had to make a quick trip to Portland to say goodbye. We could only stay one night and Kevin waived the 2 night requirement. This was so generous. Also, we had an early morning flight back to San Diego but Kevin graciously fixed us a large bowl of berries with yogurt that we could get ourselves at a very early hour. ||||We stayed in the garden room with it's own private bathroom that was large and had every amenity needed. I even forgot my toothbrush but Kevin to the rescue was able to provide. We were the only ones there so we got to see the other rooms. The Blue Heron room is much larger with a desk and they are about to remodel so that the bathroom will be private to that room as well. My favorite room was the innkeeper's suite with it's own kitchen and beautiful views. If back in Portland that would be the room I would choose even though it's on the 3rd floor.||||The location of Fulton House is excellent. I was leary of staying downtown due to recent reviews of car thefts, etc. No need to worry about that in this neighborhood that is also walking distance to a fantastic grocery store and Roventz Pizza that is now in my all time top 3 pizzas in the US!||||We are seasoned travelers who frequently stay in 4 and 5 star hotels. I wouldn't hesitate to book the Fulton House again. Next time I hope to enjoy the lavish breakfasts people...
Read moreFulton House was one of the best B & B stays we've ever had--and trust me we are seasoned travelers. Kevin and Georgia make a formidable team--they are each personable, caring, and responsive. The Inn is in a fabulous location--beautiful, walkable, and quiet...yet close to downtown (10 minutes by car) and the Willamette River (5 minutes on foot). The Inn is impeccably clean, beautifully landscaped, comfortable, unique, and offers a breakfast that will both inspire and keep you sated till 3 pm! Fulton House has left nothing to chance....from the homemade cookies, to the wine in your room (though you may need to stay more than one night for this lovely perk), to the plush towels, linens, and comfy beds, to the thoughtful wicker basket of items a traveler might have forgotten. Your preferences are respected (we did not want to eat b-fast at the communal table), to recommendations for a special feature (Willamette Falls), to an offer for an al fresco breakfast were all provided with ease. We found the rates reasonable and would have easily paid much more. Thank you Kevin and Georgia for a very special start to our Oregon adventure. We WILL be back and wish you both...
Read moreThis is my 8th 21 day road trip trough America and this B&B was without a doubt somewhere at the top of all the places I've stayed at over all those years. Started with the lovely suburb like location with vibirant night life just arround the corner. The picturesque house and garden and the amazing welcoming reception from the inkeeper Kevin. ||Got an upgrade to the suite and it was a cozy apartment like place with a great rooftop porch added to boot.||Kevin made great breakfast every morning and was a really fun and pleasant conversationalist. ||The whole situation became even a bit more magical when a female friend joined in and shared the suite and after an amazing day at Mutnomah falls, fruit loop and mount hood we went to our favorite place arround the corner Buffalo Gap (great food and drinks) to have a magical night I'll remember for the rest of my life.|| I feel like Kevins rooting for us and his lovely place was a big part of what made this night so magical and can't thank him enough for it. ||Hope to one day make it back...
