I'm very saddened by my experience here. Perhaps I'm ignorant to the way that law works as I have never been involved in a lawsuit previously, and maybe if you are working with a firm partner it's different from my experience with representation from Alex Pletch. Anyhow I feel it's worth sharing a summary of my experience for anyone who might be pursuing a similar legal matter. Perhaps look elsewhere for your representation.

I sought the help of the rizk law firm after I was medically approved and subsequently successfully matched as a surrogate, with the medical side of the process done through Oregon Reproductive Medicine. I was pressured into having a second loop procedure on my cervix by ORM, long after I had been medically approved, and then the couple I matched with was encouraged by ORM to not use me as their surrogate as a result of the second procedure that they had asked me to undergo, and which I would not have undergone was I without the understanding that it was the only way I could successfully continue forward. It was my opinion that these actions were the result of a negative interaction I had with one of their employees.

I was told by my attorney that the judge agreed we had a case when the initial hearing occurred and the case was permitted to go forward. I now have been waiting for several years for my case to resolve. During the process I underwent a traumatizing deposition. My attorney Alex had prepared me that their attorney would "kill me with kindness", when instead he outrightly accused me of being an undereducated and promiscuous liar. After that deposition I heard nothing for several years, many times emailing with no response or calling with no return call. When I did get a response from Alex I just kept hearing that the courts had not responded about when our court proceedings would continue. Yesterday Alex called me and unceremoniously let me know that everything had just occurred and ORM had won the case. I wasn't given any opportunity to take part in the proceedings and was given zero warning that a decision was going to be made on my case. For me it felt that after the deposition Alex had decided that he didn't have chances of winning and rather than directly communicate that to me he kept me on the line for literal years with false hope that I would receive some justice or resolution after a really horrible experience.
