I was really excited to attend this sale but found myself leaving feeling disappointed. We attended on Sunday, hoping for less of a crowd. The show is honestly a lot smaller than I thought. Most vendors took up 2-3 spaces, but didn't have much to look at. Many vendors weren't pricing things, the ones that did had VERY high prices (I am talking $850 for a dirty rug, $100+ for stained t-shirts...) some booths were very disorganized and messy. Not a lot of variety either.
There was also a vendor walking around trying to sell the items he'd just purchased.. which felt really gross.
I've been to the NW Largest Garage Sale in Ridgefield many times and find that to be a much better option if you're looking for a market/flea type vibe. Maybe the founders of Rose City could attend a sale there and take notes? To me this just really missed the mark. Also, there was not a lot of vendors outdoors. Read moreThis was my second time going to this event. The first time we got the basic tickets and went on Sunday and the inside was slammed full of vendors and the side lot was full of vendors. We decided to get the early bird tickets this time and was extremely disappointed. They had about half the vendors as last time inside and 0 vendors outside in the side lot. I felt it wasn't even worth the base price tickets let alone the early bird tickets. This might be the last one for me.
I'm a dealer that has set up at both of the Rose City VM shows that have occurred so far. The first one happened during a Covid outbreak, so it was a little light on dealers and visitors. The most recent show for me personally was as good (sales and connections wise) as any Palmer show that I setup at in the past. I can't wait to come back in October and I hope more past vendors will try it...
