This is a badly mismanaged Marriott property. First off, the "included" breakfast is inedible, unless you enjoy eggs with a plastic-like consistency and sausage one might expect at a county jail. Salsa and tortillas are available but no cheese or sour cream. They have seemingly elected to use the cheapest ingredients wherever possible and it wasn't worth eating. One of the two elevators has been broken for a few days, which is a bummer when you're staying on the 4th floor like we are on the opposite end of the hotel from the only working elevator. The suites are set up so that the air conditioning control's motion sensor is in the living area so the AC flips off about 15 minutes after going to bed. This is frustrating when Portland is experiencing a heat dome. While it is apparent the hardworking housekeeping staff is stretched thin (we tipped $5 each day fnor the 3 days our room got any attention), our room was in need of a deep clean. The top of the fridge, microwave and cupboards had dirt and food crumbs from prior guests. There were loads of dust bunnies under the bed and between the bed and nightstands. We feel sorry for the housekeeping staff. The housekeeper accidentally took our Frette linen pillowcases (bought from the Marriott At Home store :-) from our pillows that we brought from home. We have spent three days attempting to get them back and have received a lot of excuses and false assurances from management, including the general manager who's getting ready to go on vacation tomorrow. We are paying top dollar for the room and we requested and were assured of daily housekeeping when we checked in for a 9-night stay and that lasted for all of about 3 days. Our room hasn't been touched since the third day. There is an evening manager (he won't answer the phone when we call) that we keep approaching with our displeasure and he gives a fake "I'm so sorry" line in a pedantic and whining manner, but he does not actually resolve any of the issues. He doesn't even pretend to care about us or our experience which is probably the worst part. If this property is short-staffed perhaps they should consider increasing what they're paying to get more people -- and train the guy working the night desk to actually solve problems and not make guests even more upset then they already are. We are LIFETIME Titanium Elite Bonvoy members and this is by far the most poorly managed Marriott property we've stayed at over the past 20 years. We are so dissatisfied we are ending our stay early and moving to a different Marriott property. We do expect reimbursement for our missing pillow cases if they can't be located and returned to us.

Not worth the price !! full disclosure- Here's our experience, we went to a concert nearby. Got this room the day before ,so we didn't have to drive late at night. Well ...Its the dirtiest Marriot branch ever in our opinion. First thing noticed was, -the Room smelled like someone smoked a lot of cannabis in it that morning. I'm not anti-420 at all. just never smelt it that strong in a hotel room that I just payed for. (this was the First clue it wasn't cleaned or aired out while being cleaned) -There was dark stains on every single couch cushion. -There was a fresh red sauce looking stain on the pillow on the bed... bedding didnt smell clean, so we fold the sheets back and the bed is super wrinkly.. like the sheets were not swapped for freshly washed sheets! It's obvious to those who travel when something isn't right. (We didn't see the stained bedding until 12 am when we got in from the show.) -Floors were dirty . Balcony was a nasty mess. -Bathroom- There's black mildew around the rim of the Tub. ( never took a photo but it's 🤢) We didn't sleep in the bedding and didn't shower here either! -Breakfast- pshhh Breakfast was not at all like the pictures ,and the better proteins and carbs were gone 30 minutes before breakfast was supposed to be over. I walked up to picked over potatoes a stack of sausage patties that looked microwaved. And one lil lump of mooshy Scrambled eggs. Plan on eating someplace else. -Last is the Homeless camps surround this place... we were informed by staff that car breakins are frequent and parking on the street in front you may loose a mirror . there is security around but.. We didn't feel safe here No room for big vehicles and trailers .

Unfortunately we must have gotten a room where a family had stayed in for an extended period of time, since the room showed alot of wear and tear and was in need of a full cleaning. We arrived to find every item in the kitchen in the dishwasher together with random baby cups spoons, Tupperware, and covers but upon examination the dishes were greasy and slimy and all had to be hand washed in order to use them for dinner. The cooktop was filthy with layers of cooked on residue on the glass top which is usually sparkling clean in other Residence Inns we have stayed at which are numerous as we are former titanium and platinum members. The walls were splattered with food residue, the dining table bulb needed replacing and the tv cables had been removed by the previous tenant. The bathtub walls also needed a good scrub. There was considerable dust etc under the bed as I was looking for one of the tv controllers that needed to be replaced. The kitchen cupboards had a few bottles of baby food, were very dirty and handles were sticky. There was no salt and pepper, wine glasses, pen or notepad. Did have two champagne glasses. When attempting to use the BBQ I was confronted with a filthy rusty grill with rusted out flavour bars and hadn't been cleaned for weeks. The previous RI had a perfectly clean grill that was inspected daily. Didn't help that it smelled heavily of cooking and tortillas and all my clothes left out got impregnated with the smell. If they can't clean the room properly then they should not sell it

UPDATE (09/27/19): On my most recent stay I noticed small bite marks on my lower leg and ankles consistent with bed bug bites. I checked under the mattress and did not see any evidence, but the bite marks were still concerning. I notified the front desk and was given the manager’s card to email him (this was at 9am on a Wednesday, so you would think the GM of the hotel would be in his office). They also alerted housekeeping and I got a call from them about 10 minutes later that they could not find any evidence of bed bugs but we’re treating the room for fleas. The manager called me back about 4 hours after my initial email to him and seemed understanding and accommodating. He stated when I got back to the hotel after work I would have a new room waiting for me and enough quarters to use for several loads of laundry to ensure my clothing is not infested. Unfortunately when I got to the hotel after work the employee at the front desk had no idea what I was talking about (quite frankly I’m not sure she had any idea she worked at the hotel), but after some conversation I got a new room, but had to go back to get the change for the laundry. The more experienced employees still were not made aware of the issues or the commitments made by the GM. Apparently there is a breakdown in communication at the hotel. I have also realized that over 2 months at the hotel I have only ever seen the manager a handful of times and his office door is usually closed or the office is empty. This makes sense as to the previously posted issues, absentee management. The issues I’ve experienced are consistent with a team who is not lead or directed by a manager and if the manager is rarely onsite this would make sense. My next stay was booked for a different hotel.

Original Review: I have been staying here for some time as I am working in the area. My first check into the hotel was rather stressful as the hotel staff somehow deleted the corporate travel card the room was supposed to be charged to and charged my person debit card. This ended up tying up $800 or so in my bank account. This tends to be a Marriott wide problem as I have only checked into one hotel this year that actually charged the corporate card and not me the first time.

The rooms are not in the best of shape. Maintenance could drastically be improved. I have seen damaged desks and tables, furniture with stains on it and the bathrooms are not in the greatest of shape. The rooms are pretty spacious.

Bonvoy Gold Elite and higher members may be disappointed to learn that, despite what the website states, this hotel DOES NOT have enhanced wifi available. It is also 100% unsecured so be ready with a VPN subscription.

Another huge drawback is that this is an extended stay hotel with 102 suites and only 3 washing machines in the entire place. If you need to do laundry you pretty much need to wake up at 4am if you want a shot at clean clothes. The dry cleaning service is fast and very affordable though.

The hotel is conveniently located. It is near the airport (and they offer a free shuttle) and the hotel is near a nice area with shopping and a few restaurants. One of the big location drawbacks is that the hotel is located on a single road that has vehicles on both sides. This accessibility issue is compounded by the construction nearby and the congestion from construction vehicles can make accessibility even more of an issue. There is also a large amount of homeless around the hotel. I have not run into a problem; however, walking to the aforementioned shopping plaza you have to walk right through a homeless encampment. That could cause some uneasy feelings.

The staff are rather friendly and accommodating. There was on situation in which housekeeping was just showing up at my room around 5:00pm but that appears to be an isolated incident. Calling the front desk at night to set up a wake up call or to set up later housekeeping is hit or miss with frequently...

Not satisfied with the service I have received. I won a Gift Certificate for a one night stay at this hotel. I have not had the chance to use it, mainly because the times I have tried I was unable to use the gift certificate. My husband and I work opposite schedules with him working primarily on the weekend and myself working during the week, so we get very little time together. We were excited when we won this as a little staycation sounded nice. We live in Monmouth, so it is not a bad drive up to Portland for a night away.

The first time we tried to use it was June. We were going to be in town for a concert and wanted to use it the night of so we could stay in town and spend the morning together in Portland. They were too booked to allow us to use the certificate. They did offer to extend it until December, since it was due to expire soon. This was dissappointing but the booking person was friendly. We told her we would just have to pay to stay somewhere else and she said she was sorry we couldn't use it and to try again.

We tried again for August. It is our anniversary, I was able to get a weekday off so we could celebrate a day early together. I called a few weeks in advance (the certificate calls for 2 weeks notice). I was told that they were too busy, but she would double check with her manager and call me the next day... 3 days later I call her and she still hasn't found out... 2 days after that she finally calls and tells me that we are actually unable to use it at all from June until Aug and that they are updating their new certificates to say this. I was frustrated she didn't tell me in June when I talked to her and I guess she didn't even know it herself until she just found out after talking to her manager. I told her I was very unhappy with dealing with them and trying to use this certificate. We already made these plans and so I was going to have to call another hotel and pay for a room now only a week and a half out from the date.

I told her I was very frustrated by this policy and by no one telling me. We very rarely get a day off together and it seems pointless to even try and use this certificate since I need to plan over two weeks in advance and hope they are not too busy. This means I need to find a day weeks in advance we can take off together. Actually get it off of work. Then call and see if I can use it. If I can't I then have to cancel our plans and try to cancel the day off work. It is a big hassle. I think I paid about $10.00 to enter the raffle, so I'm not out a lot of money, but I am sure someone paid for this certificate and I think it is ridiculous to use. They don't print these policies on the certificate itself.

I also think it is ridiculous that this person is in sales and never even offered to book us for these nights without the certificate. I would even think it was reasonable to offer some token like using the certificate for 20% off for the night instead of having the stay be complimentary.

I have stayed at this hotel before. It is a fine hotel, nice quality for the most part. The bed was a little uncomfortable and we missed our bed at home. Staff was friendly and the price was okay. It seemed a little high priced for what you are getting, but it is on par with most of the local hotels.

I don't think I'll stay there after this experience. A big waste of my time and it doesn't seem like they want my business anyway since they did not even bother to ask if I wanted to book without the certificate when I literally told her that since we couldn't use the certificate I would be booking a hotel without it for that night. Very...
