They are only open every Wednesday and the second Saturday of each month. In September 2024, that fell on the same day as the Belmont Street fair. This museum was quite amazing. I did not get a chance to really talk to any of the people working. There was just so much to look at. My favorite was the cab of the firetruck that is a simulator of what it is like to be in the truck when called out for an emergency. Free admission, I recommend this for anyone in the area.

I can't recommend this museum experience ENOUGH! So very cool and incredibly interesting. I can't wait to go back and bring my fiancé. Thank you to the volunteers who help make the experience extra awesome.

Such a wonderful experience. Even though my little didn't quite understand fire safety he was enthralled with the fire truck and all the displays. Such a wonderful piece of Portland history.

This is a pretty cute museum. There's a firefighter statue outside that people tend to balance things on (like a GIGANTIC roll of ground beef(?!)). The guys working there are really friendly and helpful. We just did a quick little tour, which was enjoyable. There were a couple moms there with their kids (around 5 years old probably) who were enjoying the interactive parts of the museum (fire-truck, fire pole, etc,). There's also an emphasis on educating about...

I took my 4 year old here on vacation. It was her favorite part of the entire trip to Portland. It was open on 10/19/22 and appears to be open wednesdays for visiting. Extremely educational place and my daughter loved the simulated fire truck ride. She also loved Rose who talked to her about firefighting. So glad this was open when we visited. I wish our city had...
