Belmont Inn — Restaurant in Portland

Was recommended to come here late on a Sunday night for casual drinks, walked in with some friends and received the rudest service from the bartender. She made comments to me and my Asian friends to make us feel very unwelcome. When we decided to leave, she taunted us on the way out. Will tell everyone to stay as far away from here as possible.

In response to the comments from the owner: I appreciate that you took the time to read this review and investigate it, but I do not appreciate your attempt to minimize the experience that me and my friends felt. You weren't there when she rudely asked for our ID - no one intentionally refused her ask, if we had not offered it it's because we did not hear it as the bar was loud. I don't know if you also saw her taking our ID, turning to her friends at the bar and saying "omg, these guys are 30?!" (yes, we are all 30 or over) and taking a minute to laugh at us with her friends before returning them back to us. Perhaps her intentions were not racist in nature, I did not specify they were; I just said that my friends were Asian, and we felt a heightened sense of being unwelcome in a bar that we were excited to spend time at as we expected it to be unpretentious and welcoming. My friend and i had been enjoying a day on belmont and decided to head over to the belmont inn. Note, i have been there multiple times and have never had an issue, but for some odd the reason bouncer would not accept mine or my friends id. we are 24 and 25. we are from washington so we both have washington ids and he believed they were fake. we asked him to get a second opinion and he would not. We are confused as to the reason he wouldn’t take them or get a second opinion, wondering if him thinking they were fake was the actual issue? not sure but it was pretty ridiculous as if it was fake we would not try to convince him otherwise. no explanation as to why he would accept it. it made us feel very uncomfortable. very very disappointed. also side note, he didn’t seem sure of himself when he refused us entrance so that makes it seem like he didn’t really know what...

This place was terrible. I ordered a Guinness, which came promptly but everything after was a disaster. I then ordered wings that didn't come after 30 minutes. I said that's fine, I just asked the bartender to remove them from my tab. Almost as soon as I said that my wings magically appeared. I wished this was the end of the ordeal. As I cashed out, I received someone else's tab. I informed the bartender that I was not this person, which should have been the end of it. However I received the same total as the original tab that was more than what I originally ordered. This should be an easy fix, but I spent the next 10 minutes waiting for the other bartenders to make good on my tab. Even after I told them I ordered 2 PBRs and a Guinness and wings, I still received a tab higher than what is normal. This bar is a disaster. Please don't patron until they fix their bartender issue or their POS issue, whichever...
