Belmont Books — Local services in Portland

This is my favorite bookstore in Portland, by far. I haven't even gone to Powells since I found this joint. It's incredibly well curated, a person could make their reading list just from the front window displays, and the staff are exactly who you'd want to find working at bookstores - smart, interesting, kind people. If there is something specific you want that they don't have, ask about ordering it - they've been happy to order special requests for me and it has saved me from helping to send Jeff Bezos to space. Finest Kind! Had a perfectly enjoyable time selling some old (but good! Important. Book stores aren’t junk repositories) books today. Joe pointed out exactly how one was not the first edition I wanted it to be, but rather a book club edition. Still, it had some rarity and value, and along with the others, I was glad to put a few bucks in my pocket while putting some century+ old books back out into circulation on earth.

Located right next to a tiny food cart pod, this is a prime location for used books. Grab a new book then head over to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. Every nook and cranny is filled! There are books organized on shelves but also piled up infront of shelves for easy browsing. The best thing about buying books here is the price.
