Woods Memorial Natural Area is a 32 acre park in SW Portland that surrounds two branches of Woods Creek. There are multiple access points off of nearby city streets. The entrance on SW Wood Pkwy has definite parking spaces that are shaded as well. Multiple great trails zig zag throughout the park, including the very cool Stairway Trail. Some local “flower art” can be seen as well. It’s a great place to be in a beautiful natural area whether walking or jogging alone, hiking with family, or exploring with four-legged family!

Beautiful. A smallish wooded area with multiple trails. All trails are hilly, and some with stairs. They seem to do a decent job of mitigating slipperiness on wooded walking structures. Dogs on leashes ok. No bikes. There is one paved main thoroughfare that you can use a stroller on, but all other paths are foot traffic only.

This was one of the most tranquil hikes I've been on in a while. Clean environment, clearly marked trails and beautiful scenic views. I found some “stick-forts” while exploring off the path and some other little things that made me smile. They were very cool to look at.

As someone who has come here many times due to it's location, I can say it's really not worth 4.5 stars. First of all it's really small, not worth driving to. It's really pretty but the hike is so short that you don't get to enjoy it too much. It seems to have become a spot for pot smokers and kids riding bikes, so it's why I've stopped returning. Also nobody seems to keep their dogs leashed here because it's so unknown, so watch out. The little wooden bridges/paths are kind of run down as well, and the weird metal fences kind of ruin the ambiance. Not...

Other than its being a smaller little tract of forest, stream, and trails...it’s a little gem. The trails are awesome for running or walking. Many folks are there with dogs. I did get a bit concerned after picking up some creepy vibes from an older person who was there. I was really glad that I wasn’t further in when crossing paths. But after that I quit going alone. I’ve thought about trying to see if any assaults have taken place. Sorry to put a spin on the place, but walking alone as a female has always - since I was young -...
