Love Mystic Lake Casino, however the Steak House SUCKED!! It was over priced, low quality masked as high class casino knock off junk! Steak had some fake aged flavor that tasted like dirty blue cheese. Management hovered watching the floor so they could look important while they micromanage their staff. The poor staff was working way to hard to "look alive" when they didn't need to, calm and balanced us best and Less is more in fine dining, be attentive but don't over do it! Every 2 seconds someone walking by asking me how my meal was and it felt intrusive. My only guess is management is over compensating for their lack of abilities and so staff feels pressured instead of confident. Worst part was I didn't even ask to send my steak back, nor did I plan to, but the blonde lady manager was hovering and heard me say it was super raw for med rare. Unsolicited she comes over to grab my plate and take it back to be grilled more. All while insisting that "it was how medium rare "should" be done to perfection!" but she will fix it! Ummmmm, no thanks!! Didn't ask you to grab my plate, chime in, or fix anything! If you choose to argue with a guest about how a steak is done, when it was clearly RARE, then you are not helpful or being of service, so just go away!! Seriously who asked you!!! Their cream brulee was also garbage and tasted like mayo jello. The cheese cake was pretty good and so was the margaritas... $300 later I was unsatisfied and will never eat at the steak house again. Go to Minniehaha cafe their service is always amazing, food is good for the price, and lots to choose from. Hotel is really nice and rooms are always clean and spacious, casino is fun and large enough to keep your interest during your stay.

BE WARNED! AVOID AT ALL COST! This entire hotel is unsanitary and infested with BED BUGS. Stayed July 2024. Was assigned a room in the Promenade Tower and immediately noticed black hairs and bed bug shells all over the bed. Had to wait for 2 members of housekeeping management to meet with me at the room to inspect. They confirmed, apologized, and sent me to the front desk for a new room. I was then assigned a suite in the other tower. Upon entry, my entire family was hit with a strong smell of bug treatment. Against our better judgement we stayed, justifying because we didn't see evidence of bugs (despite the tile floor being stickier than a men's bathroom at a dirty truck stop). HUGE mistake! My daughter woke up in the morning with her rollaway bed covered in bed bug shells and rashes on her skin. I complained again to the front desk and they did NOTHING. I then filed a dispute with my credit card company rewards program (it was a points stay), and they indicated the hotel is denying I ever filed a complaint. I called the hotel directly and they kept bouncing me between supervisors and "security" (which makes no sense) having me explain the same thing over and over, and they kept saying they would call me back and they did not. Leadership at this property is DISHONEST, irresponsible for the safety of guests, and completely LACKING INTEGRITY. I don't have time for their intentional playing of games but I wanted my story told. I hope my story prevents other travelers from making the mistake of booking a reservation here, ruining your vacation, and having to bag up and wash / disinfect all of your belongings! See pics for sample of what to look for if you made the mistake of staying and are now reading this review. If you experience this problem, do not agree to another room and make the same mistake as us!

Have to leave this review because I respect the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Mr Crooks worked so hard to build this place from a small bingo hall to what it is today. The leadership in management and specifically VIP needs an immediate change. There's only 1 guy in high stakes as I type this. The reason isn't lack of jackpots. They hit in there. It's not lack of amenities or restaurants. The steak house is great. The hotel is great. They have alot of machines. (They are non smoking now which is a HUGE turn off) as TI and Diamond Joe's you can smoke. It's the blatant disrespect of high rollers. The comps are offensive. The free play is offensive. The treatment of people who earn 80,000 tier points in a few months is that of someone who has played twice in a month for 1 hour. Even that would get you much more at any casino. They need to change leadership or this place will continue to decline. I hope the elders see this and make the adjustments. It's sad to see what it has become. Get it right guys asap. The tribe is suffering. So are the employees as the big tippers are gone. I didn't come here for 2 out of 3 years it was so bad. I think I will not return. Oh and when you guys get the playoff tickets maybe give some to us not just your top VIP Hosts and Management. What happened to this place? What a shame. Elders please replace the heads of management and VIP before you guys suffer irreparable damage and have to close one day that would be so sad this tribe worked way too hard to have some employees ruin it.

Went here for the GREATEST concert I have ever been to! I took my whole family to the 4th of July concert last year with the Gin Blossoms and Lit. The music was awesome, and the atmosphere was electric. We all had a blast celebrating the birthday of our great union, and there were even fireworks after the concert. Both bands played all their hits and did it in style and even did a song as one band! My sons got to meet some of the guys from the Gin Blossoms and took some pics and autographs! After the events of the night, we went into the casino and tried our hands at the slots, then went home. All around, the night was a huge win and success. Thank you, Mystic Lake Casino, for having us!
