We visited on a Monday morning in mid-June 2025. We arrived around 7:00AM and we were the only ones there. The plan was the hike the Long Point Light Loop across the jetty. Parking was very confusing as we spent a lot of time trying to get the app to work. It just keep showing us nothing was available or error. Not sure if this was because parking was only enforced at certain times of the year or day? The signs seemed to indicate that it was always required every day and holidays. After trying for 15 mins we gave up and just went on our hike and crossed our fingers we didn't get a parking ticket when we got back. We didn't do the entire loop trail and got back around 8:30. The hike is slower than you think trying to get over some of those large jetty rocks. Also hiking in sand kind of slows you down too. There were a few other cars here now but we didn't get any kind of parking ticket. The park itself is very small and has a lot of pavers and a plaque. There are a ton of benches with a little shade. I don't recall any picnic tables or anything. There was no shade for any of the parking spots so be prepared for your stuff to bake if you're doing a long hike here in the middle of the day or in the summer. There are also no restrooms, pit toilets or porta johns. One of my kids had to go and he was able to walk into the adjacent hotel and use it. He mentioned he got a couple of weird looks but he walked in and walked out. Overall the park was fine and we didn't spent more than 20 mins there and that included 15 mins of us trying to figure out how to pay for the parking. It allowed us to park to do the hike we wanted to do. It doesn't have any facilities and the parking app was pretty much useless and wasted our time trying to get it to work. If we had gotten a parking citation upon return we would've been livid. P.S. If you're planning to do the hike, play close attention to the tide signs and do your research before going.

Interesting historical site. Nice views. Walked out onto the jetty to see some sort of duck and other birds. Water was very clear if you're looking for aquatic animals. Jetty is large rocks with gaps between them so not for everyone. This isn't what I consider a "park". It is a small area in the middle of a traffic circle with the historical marker and paver stones around it. The views from the jetty are nice. Parking is along the curb at the outer part of the circle and is limited. Worth the visit for me but it wasn't crowded as I went before the summer season.

Stumbled across this place as we had a whale watch trip from Hyannis cancelled. When that happens, why waist the day? See where the wind takes you. In our case, here. Parked around the road edge surrounding the very small park. Initially missed the significance of where we had landed. Delighted to have found the marker explaining the real first stepping point of the Mayflower crew and the Founding Fathers. Now I know why they left and set up in nearby Plymouth. Not much to see here in late September. Most cafés were shut. Nice walk along the sea wall though.

Walking across the breakwater is serene, special, but wear rock appropriate shoes or sandals. Check the tide charts and the weather: Tides - there are parts that are submerged during high tide, with intense currents. Difficult to cross, especially if unprepared. Weather - seriously exposed once you are well along. I've walked across this in January, so just be aware.

I enjoy making a 4 hour journey, taking the path at the water end of the breakwater to the bay/ocean, then walking along this beach to Long Point, literally the tip of Cape Cod. Warm outside or extreme low tide: I'll return via the Provincetown harbor side, returning on the breakwater. Tide knowledge is...

Great place to visit. You can cross over from West End Breakwater in about half an hour or less and then it's 10 - 15 minutes to get to Wood End Light Lookout and then about 45 minutes to an hour to get to Long Point Lighthouse. Your walk might be slowed by the beach sand. It's an interesting landscape not visited as much as other areas but very beautiful in its own way. Enjoyed spending time there. Make sure to be aware of high tide before crossing Breakwater or heading to Long Point. It can flood some parts of Breakwater. You'll get to the tip of the Cape, and get a great view of Provincetown as well....
