Maywood Appliance — Attraction in Proviso Township

I can’t say enough good things about Maywood Appliance. You can see my previous 5 star review below about our oven repair. But more recently our dishwasher (which we purchased from a big box store 3 years ago - and has had so many issues) finally broke to the point that it no longer made sense to pay for the repair. Maywood let us put the service fee that we had paid them towards a new dishwasher from their store. And then they went above and beyond customer service wise and called us on a Saturday to see if we’d like our dishwasher installed early since they had a cancellation. Everyone we’ve ever worked with at Maywood Appliance has been professional, knowledgeable, and truly just so kind and understanding. We’ll never purchase an appliance from anyone else, or have an appliance repaired by anyone else.

Friendly, honest, and helpful. I have an old dryer that’s been giving me trouble. I typically try to DIY, but after replacing a few parts without resolution, I called these guys to come service the machine. Long story short, the cost of the repair wasn’t worth it for the age of my machine but they gave me some DIY tips and offered free delivery if I called it quits and decided to buy a new or used dryer from them. Eventually I went in to look for a used dryer and mentioned that I didn’t have any luck following their advice. The gentleman at the shop continued to help me work through my dryer’s issue and was even kind enough to give me a spare used part that may solve my issue since he correctly identified me as a “tinkerer.” His advice and the spare part immediately solved my issue. It’s not only working again, it seems to be working better than before!

When I walked into Maywood Appliance, the owner's daughter greeted me, then heard me out as I told her and her dad about the broken washer stuck in the basement of my new house (the window it must have been brought through has since been bricked in, and the width of the basement door is narrower than most modern washers). The owner walked me around the store to see if he could find something that would work, then took my number. Later that day, he texted pictures of a washer that was just narrow enough, in great condition. $275 and an extra $15 for the delivery folks later, I am doing loads of laundry in a great washing machine.
