The Shop Salon & Style House — Attraction in Proviso Township

Please do not come to the salon it was the worst experience of my life! I came in on July 3rd mind you prior to coming in I sent photos of how my hair looked and exactly what I wanted done. When I came in I was given a price of $180 by the time I was done with my hair my bill was $318 The shop was closing everyone was in a rush I paid and left I got home I realize my hair was extremely yellow and not the color I wanted I called maybe an hour after leaving no one answered I called Saturday no one answered I called Sunday no one answered I finally got a response by Monday which was the owner. I explained to her everything that happened and how I was so unhappy with my hair she then agreed to fix at no charge and had me schedule an appointment to come in so I did! I came in July 15th had my hair fixed and boom was surprised with a bill of $175 I refused to pay it because she told me it would be complementary I then had my stylist who did my hair attack me and then had both owners come in and attack me also and tell me I was going to pay no matter what then they called the cops on me the cops agreed with me 100% and told me to take them to court! Which I will be doing I ended up paying the 175 so I ended up paying well over $500 on my hair! The owners were extremely rude nothing but money hungry and extremely unprofessional! Mind you my “hair stylist” was brand new & has been there for less then a month she knew nothing about the prices extremely jittery and was in a rush both times I was there. My first time here, overall it was good. They have a busy schedule, so mine was scheduled for two weeks after I went to make my appointment. When I went to inquire about the services, they asked me if I had a preference as to whom would be my stylist. Being my first time, I didn't. I was booked with Mallory, took a list of prices, agreed and then left.

On my appt date, I was ten minutes early. I had to wait other ten after the time of my appointment, something I'm ok with. I had some COVID concerns while waiting, the place was filled with about 12 persons, but I stayed, everyone was wearing masks, so that's good too.

Mallory was great and I got just what I wanted. She is friendly and you can see that she has experience.

The reason I'm giving giving 4 stars is because I payed $65 for my haircut, eventhough the list of prices said $50. I asked why was that, if my service was fairly simple. I was told senior stylists have an additional $15 fee. Never no one informed me about that, no the first time I personally went to book my appointment, nor when I had to reschedule it. This was a surprise, and kind of felt like a hidden fee. Having had know that, I would chose to go with other than a senior stylist, if I also had known that Mallory was one of them.

In conclusion, Mallory did a good job, they are taking some COVID-related measures, place was clean, and the staff is professional. Not sure if comming back though, I tend to not going back when I feel someone is not doing honest business, and for me not to be informed of $15 dollars additional fee for a senior stylist, is not...
