Great little stop to see some history of Quartzsite and its mining industry. Stuff inside and out to touch and learn about. They sell historical pamphlets and other unique items. The blacklight room to see the different minerals was a highlight to me. Seeing what the past looks like in 3D form is fascinating. It is just a small museum with a huge amount of information. Read moreA great place to start to know part of Quartszite's and the surrounding areas history. It is an old hotel back in the late 1800s-early 1900s. They had a framed old map there of the U.S and I was floored to find out Texas was the "New Philippines" in the early days of the Southwest and Mexico and the Southwest was the "New Spain". Parking behind museum complex, but not much of it. Difficult to get out of parking area. Another visitor had to help me.
Lots of old stuff here. Has a sort of catch-all feel, as if any old item might be displayed, regardless of historical relevance. Items that seemed to be from different time periods displayed next to each other.
I think kids would get bored here quickly. I'm an adult who likes history, and I only stayed...
