Oak City Cares — Local services in Raleigh

I'm really looking to talk to the owner of oak city care, i am a man that have custody of my now 16-year-old son for the past 9 1/5 years have all his school records to prove it. I was in a motorcycle accident and really was in risk of losing our place i have had my detailing business for over 10 years i gave the contract of one of my dealerships and all the paperwork that was asked of me for them to help me and my son. Now this lady that is a manager Miss. Green just give me the run around don't answer my emails and when i go in she won't see me. I'm not a man that rely on government assistance but because of this motorcycle accident i just needed help for my son not to have to worry about us being homeless as i get better and get us back on the right track. I was told by mis.smith that if i found a place after we was put out of the last place she will make sure that they help my son and i with moving cost to help while i get us back on track from the accident, i did that gave all the paperwork that was ask from landlord and my work. Because they are not replying or even talking to me me my landlord is about to put us out because what was promised he is not getting because of whatever reason they have. Miss. Smith was all about helping my son and i but this lady Sierra Green is the worst she act like its her money nor do she care about a child in a house nor someone that actually take care of there's and not just l looking for a hand-out. I honestly would love to sit down and give all my information for my work and my child information to someone over her, because I don't feel it's right to tell someone something that there not going to stand on now because the landlord has not got what i was told he was going to get for one i look like a liar, he let us move in before he actually got his deposit and first month as what was told even to him im bout to pay my first month because im able to go back to work but he will not accept it because he is really about to put us out and i understand him because they didn't do what they said. Black women I learned and did not have years of just a being me and my son do not by far like to help black man out at all it's a select for you but don't have the power to and when it comes to the people that have the power for some reason no matter what you do and how good you're doing it will not be there in the gap for you that rather do for those that continuously need to help and through over them when it's people out here they're really is doing what they supposed to do and can't even get help over to see us on the street. So I'm honestly looking to talk to the owner of this establishment, because of the situation and my son im not going to let this go because for one we didn't deserve the lie to be put in a even worst position when a woman told me to go down here to see about getting help because of the type of man that I am and because I have been taking care of my son by myself with no government help. i am Antonio Nipper and i will do all i can for this story to come to light and for this lady that shows she can care less about the job she signed up for, which is to help those in need that are doing right by there's kids and household. So this is my first stand next I'm going to the news then where ever im lead to go to get this story and situation exposed and handle . Not just for me and my family but for anyone else that they choose not to help just because they don't want to or whatever the case maybe, im not sure because like i said no emails are being answered nor when i took off work early to go down there to see she want even talk to me, she called the front desk told them to give me a card call and leave a message, i have yet been called back or emailed. In this day and time if we do run into a bad situation people like this don't need to be in the position that will help you because look at what happened to my son and i you just may not get any help even when you give them all the paperwork they ask for and do nothing. NEGATIVES:

I have seen parents hitting their children. An anonymous ( fill out a piece of paper ) to management system needs to be executed so that security or police arrest or kick out the violent parent. Children should never be abused in any capacity.

You are stuck all day waiting for a shower or doing laundry. It’s almost impossible to get both done. Some homeless persons are extremely dishonest trying to cut lines or the waiting lists for services and some succeed at doing it. Management should hand over the list to the Laundry/shower personal once enough people are on list and let them control the flow and make sure no one is cheating the waiting list. Anyone caught intentionally cheating the waiting list should be permanently banned for 1 week no services as punishment to teach them to be honest.

Security Guard does not allow homeless to come and go freely in and out of the building. Sometime people have to go back to their car, need some space or fresh air, quickly check on children, or go to get or drop off paperwork at other locations and then rush back.

The lobby, however, feels more regimented and hostile and everyone is more anxious, irritated or uneasy. Some homeless people are extremely rude and have no respect for other homeless people nor their time or space. They think they are better than others because they have nicer clothes on or some type of advantage in society ( narcissistic behavior ).

They NEED to create a free parking area for homeless people who sleep out of their cars who use services. Plenty of room near the building or surrounding area for expansion.

Inefficient paperwork process.

MILD POSITIVES:

Saturday/Sunday: real warm cooker food with real ingredients less than 1 out of 3 meals. More relaxed comfortable environment in the cafeteria area that promotes healthy social dialect until 4:30 PM. However management is ciphening budget as they reach closer to the end of the month. This means the meals get less healthy and smaller portion sizes. This also means they do not order enough food to cater to the already stressful homeless population throughout every month. This means that management is literally stealing a portion of the budget for themselves as well as taking first dibbs on the better selection of items before catering to the homeless. The homeless literally are catching these acts red handed and feel immense sadness knowing such behavior is happening at a social service organization that should be maximizing the well being of homeless. 1 out of the 3 police officers are extremely toxic at the center and the others do nothing to correct this officer. Also if reports of stealing and suspicious activity are told to police, please kick out homeless who are causing mischief to 90% of homeless acting reasonably at the center. Arrest those who are caught touching or stealing other peoples stuff. There is an immense amount of unethical behavior occurring from management and volunteers clearly are aware of it and are utterly disgusted and ashamed at the atrocious behavior occuring.

June 29/30: Too much unhealthy poisonous bioengineered and heavily processed food snacks and deli meats on sandwiches. Management forced homeless to stand hungry and miserable for 2.75 hours last meal of the day on the 30th. The irritation, anger, despair and anxiety was off the charts in the meal room. Door kitchen security closest to exit door was very condescending and cruel in his aggression and would not allow homeless to eat thier meal in peace at 5:30 PM inside and aggressively kicked everyone out. No one took responsibility for the lack of budgeting and planning of this extremely late meal and then made homeless feel like they caused it.

I kindly asked for the direct phone number of The Director who runs the sloppy budget for this location. Lady management told me she would bring me the phone number while I waited outside for over 30 minutes in the heat on the picnic tables after I was genuinely honest about some feedback and she never even looked at me

This place is a scam. They put more money into the armed guards who get at least 25 dollars an hour at the facility and the staff. That money could be used to house the homeless. Some staff and esp many of the volunteers look down on you not knowing your character or situation or reason for being there (maybe you aren't homeless and just want free food or services) and even if you are who knows the reason and why does that dictate who you are and how you are treated. People are often loud, disruptive, unsanitary, mentally ill and make vulgar and rude comments and no one says anything. They sit in the bathroom or follow people in the bathroom and make loud noises. They curse the staff out for no reason and not asked to leave and nothing is said. They let one guy play loud music but tell everyone else to be quiet. They unnecessarily make people and children stand outside for hours in inclement weather to wait to eat because their excuse is they need to clean up. The guards think that just because they have a badge and gun they can just come over and disrupt your conversation when you are talking to staff and volunteers. If you want to have a logical conversation, ask one of the guards, staff, or volunteers to stop harrasing you, they ignore you, tell you if you don't like it you can leave, tell you to be quiet or leave, and then have the guards escort you out. Why does an armed guard need to do all that? Having a difference in opinion is not a law or security enforcement matter. Just it's because it's a business you don't need to lord that over us or treat anyone like they are less than. We could be an undercover boss and who says you have to be less than or poor to use this place. No one should be labeled for using this facility we are all human. Working at a facility is not an ace card to stop a grown adult from speaking and ask them to leave just because you don't want to hear them or don't like what they said after yall were probably the culprit. What a cowardly thing to do. If it was a better facility I wouldn't even come there if I had my own I wouldn't even come there. Stop asking people to be quiet or leave just because they want to express their opinion. We aren't children and no one treats you all like that. Stop acting like tyrants and dictators and be the public servants you are supposed to be. You don't tell an adult to be quiet or get out. You wouldn't do that outside of work to any adult so stop using your job to do it to the people your serve. Theretoically yall are poor too if you weren't you wouldn't be working and Theretoically you make a dishonest living by keeping the poor and homeless poor...
