Junious N. Sorrell Park — Attraction in Raleigh

My family stumbled upon this park while on the 2018 Tour D'Coop — otherwise it's pretty hidden back in the South Park neighborhood and would probably be hard to notice. It was remodeled in the last year and has a wonderful variety of equipment for ages 2–12. The older kids area is shaded with canopies (the small play set isn't shaded). There is a nice grassy area at the edge of the park that was heavily shaded in the early morning. The whole playground is enclosed by chain link fence with two gates. It was very clean on our visit. Park was great! We went on a Wednesday,but my son did get really sick with a fever and a virus 2 days later after going. (He normative stays home all the time, this was the only outing he had in over 2 weeks. Dr said he probably got the virus from the playground, which is completely understandable and common), my older 2 kids even enjoyed the park! Only downside is where the rubber meets the concrete, it has a good sized bump, and my 10 yo tripped over it A few times while...

The park is in an okay safe enough area just be mindful your right in the cut (in the hood) and the occasional drug addict or homeless may be in the park as well like during my visit. So be carefull. Also the park slides and equipment is very dirty as well so don't wear clothes you can't use bleach...
