My friend's sons treated me to a tour of their alma mater NC State College of Engineering ! The highlight was visit to library at the campus ! The campus itself is very beautiful and visiting various facilities at the campus gives you an idea and insight into how and why America retains it's leadership position worldwide !

Read moreThis place is an incredible futuristic library which feels like something out of a sci-fi movie. It has a giant machine which stores the books and is able to retrieve books based on the commands of the operators. The exterior looks like a computer heat sink while the interior looks like the inside of a Starship with the white metallic looking paneling and the smooth rounded pillars. The building also has an incredible design which allows it to save energy. Even the plumbing system is efficient. The library also hosts an incredible array of high tech computers, audio equipment and all sorts of sophisticated software. There is also an incredible view of Lake Raleigh and of Centennial Campus here. I have spent plenty of time here working on homework and doing research. The James B. Hunt Jr. Library is one of my personal favorite buildings on campus. I still like D.H. Hill a little more despite all of the incredible technology because I miss having access to the book stacks and I am fundamentally someone who was born during the 20th century (albeit the very late 20th century), so the architecture of D.H. Read moreGreat library , definitely innovating and really cool building open to the public , great access during , Saturday ! Free parking, during the week most likely you have to pay to park , not sure if you are going straight to the library you have to pay . The inside looks like the place needs clean and Vacuum , and definitely some body odors considering the place is massive , there is some parts of the building that needed some air flowing and some ventilation!!! It’s ok to take showers for sure ,,—)) private study Rooms , and really cool chairs and desks where innovation meets cool !! The place needs some dusting ! The outside of the buildings are very impressive, the courtyards and places to seat outside and read a book or study !! The rooftop is the place to be ! Great views !
