An update on 6/26. Tom called me back and processed a refund of the cutting policy. Both his prompt reaction and the refund are greatly appreciated. I added one star. Again, I want to stress the fact that this was the first time my experience was negative. Tom is particularly helpful, but all staff generally is. I must have hit the wrong day. I never thought I would do this because I have been a faithful customer for years: great place, great product, very helpful people. I honestly feel guilty about posting this. On Sunday June 21 I had a less than stellar experience. I was picking up a custom cut framing glass. By email I was quoted $x for entry level glass and $y Museum quality; when I called I was told there was another option between the two (in terms of quality). That's what I went with, but to my surprise, when it was time to pay over the phone the quotes did not include the cutting; can you sell a custom cut piece of glass without cutting it? The quotes should include the full amount. When I picked the glass up I spent a good 45 minutes in the store; not once any of the employees offered to help; admittedly unusual, since in my past experiences they always seem eager to help). Last, but not least,at checkout I was using cash and the total was $21.03; when I asked if I could pick 3 cents from the "Leave a penny, take a penny" jar, I was told twice "No, you can't." At this point I may as well shop online; the products are the same and the prices are the...
Read moreJust used their store to pickup supplies and the customer service was pretty subpar. First, no one could find my order and three people asked if I received a phone call. I told each individual I did receive a call and could show a voicemail was also left. They should tighten up their pickup order system. They also could not fulfill my entire order due to one item not being available, fair enough. However the employee who helped didnt even care enough to give me a refund for the item I wasn’t receiving. She sent me on my way, she seemed frustrated she could not find my order and she stated I was all set and wouldn’t have to do anything further. Once I left I checked my invoice and sure enough they did not refund that item. I returned to the store to get this fixed and noticed the original employee saw me and then disappeared. No help or concern offered. The manager stated she was waiting for someone to call her to come perform the return originally. I also needed to purchase another two items and no one offered for me to receive the VIP card to get an additional percentage off which was interesting considering I witnessed other customers offered this. No help was offered while I was looking for my additional items, again I noticed others offered help. Definitely a pattern in this store. I try to support local business but this experience makes Amazon so much more appealing. If I didn’t need these items urgently I would refund and get them from...
Read moreI needed several tubes of acrylic paint and did not have time to order online. An artist friend suggested I route my travel through Raleigh to go to this store, slightly out of the way. But I loved the store and it was well worth the detour. The store was very welcoming from when I first walked in through my shopping and having occasional questions. They helped me decide appropriate options, as they have several options and price points. Their prices were cheaper than I had seen online, even without the member discount. I was happy to use a 20% holiday discount by joining their free loyalty club. The store is clean, including the bathroom, and the shelves were well stocked and organized. They had bags made up for holiday gift kits of various paint and drawing supplies and they were priced too low for me to leave without one. I was replacing supplies that I lost when a kid moved out so I had to get a lot, and I spent about 70% of what I expected to spend. I would have liked to spend another hour there, such a pleasant shopping experience and such nice...
