Checked in last night and had a wonderful check in experience by Daniel. Next day, my family and I decided to go enjoy the pool amenity. While we are relaxing and enjoying our time, a black lady comes to the pool area, dressed in regular street clothes saying “Excuse me, there is no weed smoking.” We immediately look up because she said EXCUSE ME!!! Now, it’s only my “black” family of four and a Hispanic couple in the pool. I asked her why she directed the statement towards us and she said “Because you answered!!!” I immediately call her out on the disrespect and she literally starts yelling at us about not smoking weed. She begins to say, “She smells it.” Myself, spouse and Hispanic couple says NO ONE IS SMOKING WEED. At this point, I’m very frustrated and upset with the way I was treated and feeling. Especially when we are innocent. I politely head to the front desk to report the incident, only to walk up and hear here talking about me in the lobby, in front of guests, to her staff. I asked for the manager and she says “I am the manager”, so I asked for her manager and she tells the young lady behind the counter to give me the number. She then gets on her cellphone and “calls” her manager to tell her that she will receive a email or report on her from me. How unprofessional and rude was that behavior. Maybe even discriminating, would you say? The RIGHT THING for her to do was apologize for accusing people of something that they were not doing. However, I am 100% that had we been “white, hispanic, asian….SHE WOULD NOT HAVE HANDLED THE SITUATION LIKE SHE DID! She then goes back to the pool area and lights a cigarette while on the phone with “Her manager,” talking very sarcastically. She comes back into the lobby and passes by me to say that “Her manager, will be expecting to hear from me in the morning.” I politely told her, I don’t deal on the state level, thank you. I almost let this slide but NAH, I’m tired of us being silent about the blatant racism and discrimination that we suffer from society and even our own people! These companies, organizations and businesses need to start investing in Customer Service Enrichment Training before the employees run all the customers off because of their lack of knowledge in the area of customer service. Word of advice for people that are mere “workers” in customer service industries that don’t know how to properly address and communicate with customers respectfully …be careful how you treat customers because you work for companies and organizations that consider you a liability, which makes you replaceable 😉

Bed bugs and poor management. Usually I have a great stay at this hotel. Want to preface this by saying that the front desk staff was polite to me. I do want to point out though that I do have bed bug bites and I noticed it the next day after I checked out of room 200. I called the hotel after I found the bites and told them they needed to check the room for bed bugs and to have the manager Please call me. I called the next day and asked to speak with the manager. The front desk person was told by the manager, to tell me that they had somebody check the room and there were no bed bugs. You cannot check for bed bugs during the day. They only come out at night, so there is no way to see if there's bed bugs during the day. She said afterwards that because of this there can be no refund. I did not ask for a refund, all I wanted was to speak to a manager to make sure that they were taking care of the problem and to be treated with a level of respect for somebody who was bitten by bugs in their hotel. I was treated very poorly. I couldn't even get hold of the manager because she couldn't be bothered to speak to me. All I wanted to do was speak about any future stays and making sure they took care of the problem but this won't be a problem anymore because I will never stay with them again. I reached out to the general manager Harin as well. Have heard nothing back. I made a complaint to corporate and I'm hoping that gets a manager to reach out to me. Really bad customer service for somebody who went through bed bug bites and was treated with no respect

I don’t know how anyone could possibly find fault with anything at this hotel. My husband and I decided to take a spur of the moment overnight trip to Raleigh, we didn’t have a reservation, we just walked in around 8:30 PM tonight hoping there was a room available. (06/08/2019) The front desk attendant was very friendly and helpful and she got us checked in very quickly. The price for our room with a single King sized bed was $109.00 (not including taxes), which was considerably less than most of the other hotels nearby. Our entire room is immaculate, with all the amenities we need and more. The air conditioner in the room is excellent, you could hang meat in here! (I LOVE that!) The bed is super comfortable, it feels 10x better than the mattress I have at home that we paid $1200.00 for! The linens are soft, smell fresh and look nice and clean and the pillows are absolutely wonderful! There are drink and ice machines on every floor, and snack machines in the lobby. The hotel is very well maintained, it’s just as beautiful and well kept on the outside as it is on the inside. Very nice location, lots of different shops and restaurants close by. I was also thoroughly impressed that they have a security guard in the lobby at night. I can’t wait to have their free breakfast in the morning, I’m quite sure it won’t disappoint. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone and I would definitely be happy to stay here again.

Everything was great until......|My wife and I checked in Thursday for 3 nights. Upon check in, we were taken care of by Maria. Very sweet, attentive and had us on our way in no time. Thursday night was fine. Got up and went about our business Friday morning. Came back to the hotel Friday evening, head to the room and fell asleep quick. Then came Saturday morning. My wife is disabled, and we were on the 5th floor. We got to the elevator and waited about 4 or 5 minutes, and nothing happened. I called the front desk from my personal phone (the phone in our room wasn't hooked up) Was unfortunate to get a front desk person by the name of Kwamel. Very unprofessional individual. I asked if there was a problem with the elevators. He said yes, there were not working. I asked him how we were supposed to get downstairs. He directed me to where the stairs were. I advised him that my wife is disabled and not able to walk down 5 flights of stairs. In his own charming way, he had no other answer for me. I hung up and had to help my disabled wife down 5 flights of stairs with her walker and our cooler for the day. Took us about 25 minutes to get to the bottom as my wife had to take one step at a time holding on the guard rail with both hands. I had to stand under her so she wouldn't slip and fall. When I got to the front desk, I inquired how long they would be out. My wife and I were going to be at a convention all day but obviously needed them working before we got back later that night. Mr. Personality had no idea. I inquired what we were supposed to do if we get back and they are still not working as there was NO WAY my wife could WALK up 5 flights. He was very unsympathetic and showed no compassion whatsoever. There was another rep behind the desk. She kept quiet for a while which was probably better for her. She finally asked me to come to her. She looked in her computer and long story short, if they were not fixed by the time we got back we had a room on the 1st floor waiting for us. I would just need to clear everything out of our current room which of course I would. That reps name was Karen. She was very nice, polite and showed an interest in helping us. Kwamel showed NO SIGNS to help. He just stood there with his shirt untucked and looked like it had been slept in. Instead of being part of the solution he kept telling me no. Wonder if he would have felt the same way if it was his mom or his grandma that was disabled and had to walk down 5 flights of stairs.|I called Karen later in the day and was told they got 1 side working but the other wouldn't be looked at until Tuesday (holiday weekend) I am very surprised they wouldn't have someone on call 24 hours a day in case something like this happens. Doesn't say much about how much they care about their guests.|Got back to the hotel at around 8PM. We were greeted by Daniel. We told him what took place that morning. He was VERY apologetic and showed much sympathy. Kwamel should really take some notes from his coworkers on how to treat guests. 1 elevator was working, and we got to our room. Luckily, the next morning it was still operating. We checked out with surprisingly the girl that checked us in Maria. We explained what happened and she informed me that she read the notes on the account. She got my number and told me that the manager Regenia would be calling me. It's now Thursday afternoon and no call. It's fine. They credited us $200+ on the room, which is fine, but I would have liked to tell management what happened and how we will NOT be back due to employee Kwamel. There are A LOT of hotels in the area, and I will look elsewhere when we return which is in about 6 weeks. Very sad that 1 uninformed, uneducated person can lose a huge company business. I shall be telling this story to all my associates who also book hotels often. Kudos to Maria, Karen & Daniel. They took the time. They showed that they cared. Not too much to ask for...

I am not in the habit of hurting or helping someone's business. I simply just review my own experience at the hotels that I stay at in the hopes of helping my fellow travelers. Those that have read my reviews before know that I am a road warrior and I am on the road more than I am home unfortunately for my job. This is my second stay at this hotel and it probably will be my last. I'm going to cut to the chase. If you're looking for a hotel for location only and you're not going to be in the room very often, I think this would be considered a five-star hotel for that criteria. However, I was generous with four stars for the following reasons. First a quick thumbs up to the front desk staff. They were very helpful and courteous very rough around the edges but at the core they did a good job and resolved any issues. I was on the 5th floor and the air conditioning within the Halls was out my entire four-day stay. Even though my room was cool, the air conditioner had to run non-stop because the 90° heat from the hallway with seep in underneath the crack in the door. Other Halls seem to be air conditioned so maybe they had an issue to fix. The hotel caters primarily to construction workers. They can be a little loud getting up in the morning at 4:00 a.m. and a little Rowdy when they get home around 4:30 p.m.. nice guys but again rough around the edges. The breakfast was decent and I was grateful it was there. Parking at night was difficult because of the construction workers putting their trucks and vehicles in the parking lot. You get no room service at all at least that was my case coming up on my 4th day. However the housekeeping staff did provide me with towels but be prepared to use an English to Spanish translator if trying to communicate with them. This is what I did and it made it a lot easier. Never had an issue with the Wi-Fi period the bed was comfortable. The furniture in the room is very dated but the room was clean and that's more important to me than fashion or Style. I was lucky in room 500 that I had a lot of water pressure and always hot water. The majority of my gripe was just a issue with booking an additional day which turned into a mini nightmare but it was resolved. I just choose to cough up a couple of more dollars and stay at a different place. I want to tell you that you should never pay more than $120 a night for this place unless you are in a total jam. I would say that the hotel on a nightly basis should always average around 79 to 95 dollars. But they get you with the location and lastly trying to find a cheap hotel in this neighborhood is very very difficult. So I would encourage you to try the hotel and see what you think I just elected to spend a couple of more dollars and stay at a nicer...
