My husband and I signed up for O2 fitness at Grove 98, but that location is still not open so we decided to try this location out. We've only been at this location for a week or so, and so far it has been a great experience. We came from a very large gym with state of the art equipment in the midwest. After moving here 3 months ago, we have trialed several other gyms and had a month-to-month membership at another gym, but out of all the other gyms, this gym has met our expectations so far. Staff is extraordinary- all very friendly and welcoming. I came in New Years Day with my daughter, and despite staffing issues, their manager opened up the daycare and watched over her while I worked out and did not make me feel any guilt about it. He was on the floor playing toys with her.
Equipment-wise- this location has all the equipment you will need for a good work out. Free weights- dumbbells that go up to 100#s, kettlebells, and barbells. There's several adjustable benches, including decline and incline, about 3 squat racks, a smith machine, and several cable machines in different areas of the gym. There is a good amount of machines (assisted and non-assisted) for back, shoulders, chest, abs, and legs. There's a good amount of treadmills, ellipticals, stair-masters, so you'll hardly ever be waiting for a cardio equipment. They have a farmers carry treadmill machine and a true form runner treadmill.
Space- It's a decent size gym. There is a turf area by the cardio room for "circuit-like" trainings. There's two workout sleds, several sized plyo-boxes, one cable machine, kettlebells, dumbbells, and so much more in this turf area. They have a small track, a studio room for classes, and a cycling room too. They have locker rooms with showers.
They offer personal training with nutrition guidance and physical therapy. They also offer childcare at certain hours. My 4year old actually loves going to the gym and playing with the abundance of toys here! They have disinfectant sprays and paper towels accessible to wipe down equipment. My only issue is not with the gym itself, but members being oblivious to proper gym etiquette- weights and equipment not being put up, not re-racking weights, or weights being placed all...
Read moreI have had the genuine pleasure of training with Miss Jasmine Rahman at 02 Fitness at the North Ridge location for the last 3 months and I'll say she definitely knows Personal Training. My physical therapist, Crystal initially recommended an in-house trainer so they could collaborate on my progress overcoming severe neck pain, and tight hamstrings and calves. These ladies, in concert have reduced my pain levels and now are helping me improve my balance and posture. Jasmine keeps a very detailed workout regimine each day of our 3 day/wk.workout plan. Jasmine makes it fun and invigorating without making it impossible! Her kind words, warm compassionate personality and sweet laugh have provided me the reinforcement I really needed to attain much improvement in posture and definition in my upper and lower build. I've learned more from her in the last 12 weeks than I've learned with friends and gym mates in 10 years! Most friends and gym members simply don't know the secret of the right movements/exercises with appropriate weights and sets. Jasmine has an exceptional keen eye for detail constantly catching me when my form is lacking and gently calling it out so my body benefits from the exercise. Her approach of getting the difficult exercises out of the way first, then honing in on the others so to fully cover the entire daily regime. But let me say, don't be fooled by her outgoing personality and friendliness to others in the gym, because she adamantly knows the numbers of reps you've done and how to improve the workout. There's no getting off easy when Jasmine agrees to train you. Each workout is carefully customized based on performance in prior workouts and where additional conditioning is necessary. So in summary, Jasmine has proven to be an exceptional train coach and friend who I'd highly recommend for those seeking help achieving their goals of a attractive and...
Read moreIt’s just ok. Not a great gym.
Lacks a wet area and for $80/month, one expects at least a sauna.
Very small compared to other gyms in the area. But my insurance pays for it.
They have some Hoist machines; you know the ones that move the seat when one is moving another body part. I don’t use them.
They have some life fitness and cybex. Best equipment they have is Hammer which I like. But the Hammer leg curl and leg extension could be better. Feels clunky.
There are 4 barbell bench stations: 1 decline; 1 incline; 2 flat. Only 1 preacher curl. 2 incline benches for dumbbell work. 2, 4 position cable stacks. Those stay pretty busy.
I’m surprised at the things missing from O2.
There are ongoing plumbing problems. Has been an issue for at least 6 months. Showers, bathrooms were shut down completely for over a month.
They “fixed” everything but a few days later, water was shut off again. Fixed again but down to one toilet in the men’s room. Has been an issue for at least 3 weeks now (early April 2025).
On the positive side: staff is friendly. The gym is...
