I ordered 560 (60 roles) sqft of TifTuf Bermuda sod Tuesday September 12th from the Raleigh, NC location, but picked it up a day later than my original date. When I got there I checked in to get my order. There was a young man who loaded the grass, he wore eye glasses, I asked him if what he had loaded was the correct amount, and his word were, "Yes, they said give you some extra." Well he never actually counted the roles and there was nothing extra in on the pallets he loaded. I didn't realize this until got home. While I was still there outside looking confused another employee recognized me, and asked if he come help. I was a little confused because the pallets of grass that he loaded looked a broken up, brown, yellow and withered. So I asked him, "Is it supposed to look like this and his remarks were, "Yeah, it's been sitting in the sun. It's really resilient" I reluctantly accepted that excuse and left. After getting home and beginning to lay out the sod I realized that I was actually shorted one role of sod and that the entire pallet he loaded was all withered, dry, yellow and brown sod and the other 9 were all broken up, brown and dry as well. My issue is that this is the second time I have received an entire pallet of dry and yellow, withered and brown sod from Super-Sod, and after inquiring as to why this is the customer service rep said the same the the one employee said, "well its really resilient..." This order, I only delayed my pick up by only one day and it really doesn't add up to me. This is the second time I have received this type of dead looking sod and ifySuper-Sod receives fresh sod on a daily basis and in only 24 hours the entire pallet (well it wasn't an actual full pallet) of sod I received turned brown, yellow dry out and withered in that time frame then something is very wrong with the grass. I have been dealing with grass for 25 plus years and I know and understand that it's actually impossible for fresh cut sod to dry out and turn brown and yellow in a 24 hour time frame, if the grass wasn't already damaged and water deprived before being delivered to the store. The dilemma I am having is the fact that I have ordered from this company a number of times and have picked up my orders 3 times the same day and on those three times the grass was nice and green and fresh, and the last two times the grass was brown and yellow and even some pieces of the roles died. I was going to let this go, but no. I need to have this situation resolved immediately. Because I really like your product and almost my entire yard is your grass and I'd like to...

The logistics of ordering and delivery of sod is fantastic, however I am editing this review to reflect the quality of the actual sod itself - which is horrid. I laid about 1200 square feet in my front yard and have watered it faithfully. The problem is that the sod was cut way too thin and didn’t survive the process. In comparison, I happened to be at Home Depot and noticed they had received a fresh pallet - so I bought seven rolls to finish off one corner of the lawn where I ran out of Super Sod. The HD sod was a much thicker cut and is growing great - a nice even grass. On the other hand the Super Sod has died off in patches throughout the entire lawn and will require major re-seeding. FYI - the yard was throughly prepped to include the removal of all existing vegetation, the recommended composted starter soil was spread over the area and all sod was laid within eight hours of delivery. Look at the photos and see if you can tell the differences I have attempted to describe.
$1000 down the drain, very disappointed, a little older and a little smarter.
July 27, 2022 …still waiting to hear back from the management team
July 28, 2022 I was very glad to hear from Dustin this morning. Super-Sod of Raleigh has offered to replace the two pallets of sod that died in my front yard. I will try again in September to get our place in a presentable condition. I look forward to updating this review in six weeks with a five star report.
September 23, 2022 - follow up
Dustin and Super Sod came through with two pallets of replacement tall fescue last Friday (September 14). The sod rolls were much thicker and I had it all in place within a few hours of delivery. I have been watering each day and so far it all looks good. I will update again in a month.

My “resodding” project has be down for about eight weeks and the front yard looks fantastic - all the rolls that were delivered have taken hold and is sending up new shoots of beautiful green grass. I’ve have many positive comments from visitors and neighbors. Dustin and his colleagues at SuperSod have been very friendly and helpful. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is never lay tall fescue sod in late spring, it simple can’t handle the summer heat, regardless...
Read moreWe recently had roughly 5000 sf of tall fescue installed. The five stars is for Shannon who was the lead and sold us the sod. Every company has a challenge, now and again, in meeting customer expectations. Let's face it, things happen. In our case the subcontractor for Super Sod did a horrible job with the install (huge gaps between pieces, did not roll, covered several pre-marked irrigation sprinkler heads with sod, and used pieces that should have been tossed aside as waste), left garbage from their breakfast and lunch littering our yard and lied about us telling them we did not want the extra pallet of sod that we had already paid for installed...(Not even a one star experience). Shannon however was immediately on top of things...She had the install manager come out who like the installers lacked customer focus. He was defensive from the start but then agreed that Shannon's recommendations should be followed and about 1000 sf of sod replaced, the rest rolled, etc. Unfortunately that did not happen. The guys came out and replaced a handful of pieces and did not do what the install manager committed to doing, but instead did what he originally suggested which was not acceptable to Shannon or myself. (Again less than one star experience). But when things go from bad to worse as in this situation, how the customer is treated and how the company responds to the issue is where the rubber meets the road. Shannon was again immediately on this, got the problem installer and manager out of the way and brought in other people to correct the issues. She stayed through the entire process which is not her job but she wanted to make sure everything went smoothly, she even came out with compost and placed it in between pieces to make sure the sod was installed perfectly and to our satisfaction. Shannon represented Super Sod with such care and professionalism toward the customer she single handedly turned a very negative situation into a positive. I would absolutely use Super Sod again knowing that Shannon was handling things. In this day and age when it seems nothing goes according to plan, it is absolutely refreshing and encouraging to know that there are people like Shannon...
