As a student, I attended the Davidson at NCSU Woman's Basketball game on Decemeber 1tth, 2024, just a day after my last final that semester. I sat in the middle lower section for the game which was a tough fight at the end. During my experience, the loud and proud fully grown man in his 50s/60s directly behind me was screaming at the referee without any constract (over a silly insignificant call). From this loud noise exposure, I suffered hearing damage resulting in noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) & tinnitus, mainly in my right ear. The way the seating is arranged at Reynolds Coliseum bundles people right on top of one another as evident in the pictures. I understand the NC State athletics prides itself on fan engagement, but does't a bunch of fully grown men showing up to a building to scream down their throat cross that extreme? I believe so, or at least without empering yourself with tools and knowledge about the matter. Many of the student and youth populations are uneducated on the topic of hearing health as our government funded public schools make no effort to teach how to protect your hearing or even introduce those concepts in the one and only Gym & Health class in high school. At the university level, you only learn about hearing health if you take the right curiculum pathway for your major. Before every single game or event, at the minimum the Jumbotron should give a 15 second warning about hearing health as well as a dedicated PA announcement. There are very simple and easy ways to protect hearing if they are brought to the light of day, not doctors offices after the fact. Think of all the future students who might have similar expereineces in the future, sitting innocent thinking they are safe, but a life changing moment can happen instantly at Reynolds Coliseum. I think it is time to do better at...

It served as home to the Wolfpack men from 1949-1999.
Today, "The Old Barn" has been completely renovated. Replacing one end zone of the facility with a hall of fame for Wolfpack athletes, the modernization of Reynolds preserves the past while providing state of the art amenities seen today in larger venues.
Statues on the outside of the facility pay tribute to some of the finest coaches ever in men's and women's basketball including, Everett Case, Norm Sloan, Jim Valvano, and Kay Yow.
This beautiful facility has hosted Presidents, including Ronald Reagan and Barack Hussein Obama.
It was the last stop in the wee hours of the morning of November 8, 2016, where presumed presidential winner Hillary Rodham Clinton wrapped up her final rally before heading to New York, only to lose to Donald Trump in one of the most stunning upsets in American Presidential...
Read moreI was in the section that was shaded. The seat was comfortable. The NC State graduation ceremony for 2025 was very nice, colorful. The speakers in section 3 were off so my section could not hear, but we could see everything. If you go to an event here go prepared with sunglasses, hat, protective clothing and sun block especially in face, neck and hands. Parking was fine. We ran into a few obnoxious drivers taking SUVs into sidewalks and yard space. Patience is the name of the game. The crowd was enormous but the stadium was accommodating. Hydrate well before exiting your vehicle. The best thing to do is to arrive very early, hydrate in your car, put on sunblock and walk on very early. If you are handicapped, it is best you get there very early to avoid...
