Foothill Skate Inn — Attraction in Rancho Cordova

Wish I could give zero stars. We were invited to a friend's daughters birthday party, which she paid almost $500 to rent the whole rink for 2 hours. 15 minutes into our party time, the staff had still not cleared out the people before us. When we asked them about it, they said they would take care of it, and then did nothing!! My 8 year old autistic son put 4 quarters in a dinosaur video game, and the screen was black but we could hear sound. I told one of the staff and she said it must not be working, she would call it in but couldn't give my son his dollar back because foothill doesn't own the machine. How are we supposed to know that? She said there are signs on the machines, but there was no sign on that machine whatsoever!!! I spoke with the manager who tried to tell me the same thing. And then this miserable woman tells me, "if the screen isn't working why would anyone put money in it?" I said, my son is 8 and autistic!!!! And for that matter, ANY kid wouldn't think about the screen being black, unless your staff had an "out of service" sign on it!! Which it didnt!!! I reminded her that we were with a party that had paid them close to $500 and was she really going to do all of this over a special needs child's one dollar!!! She said she would give it back to me this time but that I should keep him off the games so this doesn't happen again!!!! How dare her!!! I will no tonly NEVER book a party here or suggest ANYONE to book a party here, but I will never bring my son here for recreation activities!!!!! Ever!! We got zero help from any of the 16 year old Gothic, emo angry looking staff through those 2 hours, we could barely hear the music, and no food or drinks were included in $500 fee!!!!! And the place stank like weed!!! Horrible!! Highly do NOT...

This place is really awesome for a nice small roller skating place, when I sprained my ankle 2 or 3 weeks ago the staff were really calm and quick and helped me out a lot and I thank them for that!!! the staff are really cool people and seem really chill and on top of their jobs for I believe being possibly being around 18-19??? (Most of them look around that age so just a guess, usually people around that age would hate being around little kids and stuff so mad respect them for being able to handle that. ) I came back today (not to skate because my ankle is still healing) it was really cool, there's also this really nice guy (hes 15 I think) who dabs people up (he wears black skates and a black hoodie I think, he's cool he was there the last time I sprained my ankle too lol so I'm guessing he goes there on a regular basis) he helps a lot of the little kids up once they fall down and stuff and even gets people's walkers for them too! (I really wanted to become friends with him because he's around my age too 😔) anyways, yeah pretty much awesome place, the food is good (the pizza has a little bit too much Tomato Sause and little Cheese but it's still really good) the machines aren't that good but honestly it's more for little kids or birthday party's or to make friends and skate more than an arcade obviously, they also have fun games when people are skating so that's also cool, not only that but also the bathrooms are VERY clean! Amazing place I wanna go again maybe for my 15th birthday in 2 months! Maybe I'll even consider working there myself when I get older! :)

Just waiting patiently in line and this random older man comes out of the rink and started talking to us. He asked if my friends and I were together and if we were 25. A complete stranger asking a group of young girls, out of the whole line, with weird questions was really sketchy. We asked if we had to be 25 or older to get in. He then said that we needed to have an adult with us. We explained how were all over 18 so we were adults and questioned why we needed to be 25+. He said that 17 and under needed an adult to get in. Which made his previous question confusing because why would he ask if we were 25 if you need to be 18+ to get in. We were clearly uncomfortable and my friend said she something he didn’t like, which really made him mad. He angrily ordered her to get out of line and talk to him, like he was reprimanding his child. That’s when we asked if he worked there and he finally told us that he did. He escalated the situation and took it way out of portion. That’s not how you approach/talk to customers. We were forced to leave, we didn’t want to contribute money to a place with employees that have behavioral issues anyway. Overall, we would have been nicer and more inclined to talk to him if he didn’t just come up to us asking ignorant questions without any explanation....
