I was at Candyland's new location recently (I had not been there since before the pandemic) and the employee mentioned it had a new owner. If that is the case, it could explain why it has fallen so sharply in quality. It used to be an actual cake supply shop with professional stuff. Now, most of the items on the shelf are cheesy, colorful garbage, far more likely to junk up your cabinets with stuff you will never use and will actively make your baking experience worse. Disastrous waste of time. Literally no reason to go here at this point when Michaels has the same junk at better prices.
To top it all off, I spent almost fifty dollars on dyes. I specifically told the employee that I was going to use them to make macarons. Stupidly, I listened to their advice, and didn't notice that "oil based" was printed on the label. Obviously it was my fault for listening to the employee instead of reading for myself, but when someone is telling you that the product is premium and that it is the best product for what I am trying to do, I ignored my better judgment and bought a bunch of them. Unfortunately, I did not notice until I had already ruined my first batch.
Don't waste your time with this store.
RESPONSE: The owner spent a lot of time responding to my review implying I somehow mistreated her because I thought she was an employee rather than the owner. I have no idea whether the person I dealt with was the owner or not, but if she was the owner, she spent over 35 minutes talking about herself in the third person.
Regardless, it is absolutely a lie that I treated her like a "gopher." I spent over 100 dollars in her store on products she recommended. Maybe she's being truthful now that she doesn't know anything about macarons. Fair enough, though that would have been nice information to share before offering a recommendation on a...
Read moreI have purchased my candy supplies for years from Candyland Crafts. Their Merckens melting wafers are some of the best I have found. Their prices are also some of the lowest that I have found. My Aunt who taught me to make my Christmas candies, always said use the best quality candy making supplies. I do have my supplies shipped to me every year and have been pretty satisfied with that also. I had a mishap this year and was fixes immediately with no questions. They were super nice and understanding. I had my replacement in a few days. Definitely recommend Candyland Crafts for your candy making supplies. Thank you for all the years of great...
Read moreCandyland Crafts is the BEST for candy making and baking supplies. I live about an hour away, and every time I travel to that area, I make sure to stop in and stock up. Their edibles are top quality, not like the tasteless junk from big box or grocery stores. I've never been disappointed whenever I shop, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help customers find what they need. I've been going there for decades, even before the moved to the current location. I highly recommend...
