Laytonia Recreational Park — Attraction in Redland

This is actually a very pristine facility. The one negative is huge in my opinion. All of the fields are synthetic turf except for the baseball diamond . The maintenance crew does a horrible job of watering the dirt area of the batters box. The quality of the field dirt is poor. It's a like a dry power making for a very nasty dusty experience. It appears that no one waters this field or maintains a proper mixture of soil that would prevent this field from being the dust bowl that it has become. This one neglected area of maintenance shows that the maintenance crew is lazy or does not care about the effects of their poor upkeep on those who use the baseball field. This one neglected piece of maintenance takes away from the overall quality of the entire facility in my opinion. On the flip side the facility has great walking tracks and offers free WiFi for visitors. If you are visiting by car beware of the narrow driving lane in the parking lot. This park is a total win for families! 🛝 The playground is packed with fun stuff that keeps kids entertained for hours. The quarter-mile walking path around the baseball field is perfect for a quick, peaceful stroll. 🚶‍♂️ The whole place is beautifully manicured, with well-kept fields that look ready for game day. ⚾ I tried the trail, but it got a bit muddy under the trees, so I turned back—wear sturdy shoes if it’s been rainy! 🌧️ It’s nice and quiet, making it a great spot to relax or let the kids burn off energy. Fields and park are all great! The parking is absolutely horrible when all the fields are being used. People were getting crazy, ready to fight over parking. The soccer field was a big cloud of Marijuana smoke on the evening of 10/6/24, it was so horrible for everyone else on the others fields. Umps on the baseball field were commenting on how bad the smell was from the Soccer field. There was no security or police, it was too overly crowded. They need police there on nights when it is overly...
