Nice park. Enjoyed the day out inspite of the heat. 🌞 Attended a Grad's picnic w/family & friends, who have been 'outta sight-outta mind' since last we visited in Mid Dec., on their Wedding 💒 Day! 😉 (and yes, we did feed a very quiet destitute man) The Sunday drive from Moreno Valley took abt 30mins, was pleasantly scenic.., as the long winding roads add to the driving tension and the landscape varies considerably from town to town. 🏜️, 🌫️, ⛰️, 🌁, it's actually very diverse! 🙂 I've read that this is the oldest park in Redlands & located on approximately 23 (+) acres of lush green. Some interesting points abt this park are.., it has a custom-built playhouse & play area, surrounded by ample picnic areas & has side parking for RV's up to (40ft)! There's plenty of open grassy areas & lots of really shady old trees, to accommodate large groups & gatherings which, will help keep little tykes happily active & the older folks cool 🙂 enough.., so as to enjoy the day out w/o totally dehydrating or feeling too uncomfortable 😣. There are bathroom facilities available, however.., do keep in mind, they may not be easily accessible to those w/ambulatory or; serious walking limitations. So plan ahead & bring a portable commode & possibly.., even a tent for the privacy if anyone needs to utilize it! 😏 I'm just saying, y'know? Beyond this.., there's a stage for bandstand / group entertainment, horseshoe pits, a bag toss (Cornhole), a softball / baseball field & I've seen, a relatively New Skateboarding area! What? 😃 Yep, f'shó! Finally, I've noticed a dry stonewalled river bed w/stone bridge walkways over it, in the park. And questioned if there is a water run periodically, or whether there is water flow, only during rainy season? .. just...
Read moreThis has been my favorite park for decades. Especially on the 4th of July when they have festivities and the park is filled with the college kids from University of Redlands drinking heavily and partying hard. I've been going so many years that I remember being a little kid seeing all the college kids partying, and I became one of them when I got old enough. Now I'm old enough to have college kids of my own but I still go every year and tear down all the house parties surrounding the park. It's a weird experience to reach that age when you can remember all of the different phases of life along the way. But this park means so much to me and my experience of growing up, growing old, and all the changes along the...
