If you’re in the mood for sushi… #sushi #lobsterroll #lemongreeroll #shootingstarroll #tokiosushi #sogood

Decided to take myself on a date!! The last time I tried this place it was during the quarantine in 2020. At that time you could only order to take out. So I was so pleasantly surprised when I could actually come in sit down and enjoy the environment. It was definitely warm and inviting there were a lot of tables full and a lot of people there laughing and eating which is always great. They didn't have very many sushi rolls that were riceless. There one I tried was called "SAKI BOMB" very great sauce!! I wanted to lick my plate after I was done eating! The spicy garlic edemanme proportion was perfect!! The garlic/chile combo was unique. The chili had a slight hint of sweet. It was so tasty, I couldn't stop eating it. The more you ate the hotter it got!! My mouth was on fire!! Since there were not a lot of riceless rolls I decided to try an appetizer I never had before. So I got a yellow fin fish. I thought it would be raw pieces, but this came out hot! After a couple mins of struggling with tearing pieces off the bone, I was brought a fork and with her hand motioned me how to use it!!! Lmao!! It was great food and a nice setting. A nice spot to have a nice casual conversation with a friend. I will go back and take my kids!!

The most disappointing takeout i have experenced anywhere, anyplace and anytime. I ordered via phone Shusi Dinner and Yelllowtail collar and paid $32.51 plus $2.00 dollars tip. When I got home what I got where 2 tuna collar and no sushi. They told me there is soy sauce and the 10 piece sushi is inside. I should have check the content before leaving. I have been buying sushi at this place, but I believed this time they lost me. I tought of going back and retuen the Tuna collar, but I decided to just eat both. The tuna collar is $11.00 plus, so I overpaid for my meal. There are other good sushi place around Redlands and this will be the last I will order from this place.

1/5 Stars - Appalling Experience, Discrimination & Disrespect

My family and I were left feeling humiliated, disrespected, and utterly disappointed after our second visit to this sushi place. The servers' shocking behavior has left a sour taste in our mouths.

We were initially told to "sit anywhere," but soon after, we were abruptly asked to leave due to supposed seating arrangements. The real reason, however, remains unclear. Was it discrimination? Ethnicity-based profiling? The uncertainty only adds to our outrage.

The female server's cold, unfriendly demeanor made our experience even more unbearable. Her dismissive attitude and complete lack of empathy were staggering.

As paying customers, we deserved respect, courtesy, and basic human decency. Instead, we were treated like unwanted intruders.

To the management: If you genuinely care about your customers, take immediate action!

Hire staff who value diversity and inclusivity. Provide comprehensive training on customer service, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Ensure your establishment welcomes ALL patrons, regardless of background.

Until then, we'll take our business (and appetite) elsewhere.

Warning: Potential customers, beware of discriminatory practices and subpar service.

Additional Incident - Harassment & Intimidation*

After sharing my previous review about the poor service and potential discrimination at this sushi place, I received a disturbing message from Susan, allegedly affiliated with the business.

Susan's message was condescending, dismissive, and shockingly aggressive. She labeled me a "nasty fellow" for speaking out about our legitimate concerns and accused me of "victimizing" myself.

Her tone was appalling, and her words reeked of gaslighting and intimidation. It's unacceptable for a business representative to:

Personalize criticism Dismiss customer concerns Use derogatory language Attempt to silence and belittle

Susan's actions demonstrate a profound lack of empathy, professionalism, and respect for customers.

New Demands:

Public apology from Susan and the business Immediate termination of Susan's affiliation with the business Comprehensive customer service training for all staff Implementation of a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and intimidation

Updated Rating: -5/5 Stars (if possible)

Warning: Potential customers, beware of this business's toxic culture, discriminatory practices, and harassment of customers who speak out. Be careful with...

I (young-ish, brown and high-femme presenting at the time) was looking forward to a nice chat with a family member (young-ish, caucasian and femme) and their toddler at lunch. We came in and were directed to take a seat in the least comfortable seating location where all the hustle and bustle is. Located right beside the hallway and across from where the older lady was spraying all the menus down and doing prep work. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Shortly after we received our menus a group of middle aged bros (visibly all caucasian) came in and we decided to order to-go instead of having to be in that vibe throughout our lunch. Overall there was a lack of hospitality for us from the lady as she was doting on the group of guys ( that got to choose where they'd like to sit and got their drink orders taken before us). She also just had the overall attitude that she was angry with us each time she engaged. The toddler was just chillin' and babbling as they do but nothing over the top. When the toddler was getting loud my family member took them outside to prevent any diner's being disturbed. Also there was no ambient music or ambient sound makers in the space either so the overall mood was just flat and cold. When the lady brought our order out I kindly thanked her and I got the cold shoulder as she just dumped the bags on the table and waked off to check-in on the bro table -- not even a "have a nice day" as I left the restaurant. It was over a $50 dollar order with a tip too. She made a point of having us pay up before placing the order kinda like she expected us to dine and dash. When we finally got to a park to eat it we found the special tempura rolls had an absurd amount of sauce like it was completely drenched and sopping sauce when you would lift up a piece. The chicken teriyaki was bland. The nigiri I got was just so-so and the Albacore I got was also drowned in sauce. ALL OF THE TO-GO BOXES WERE USED UPSIDE DOWN as well so the overall dining experience at the park was cumbersome. Really disappointing dining experience and I would not recommend to anyone. Save your coins for a place that actually values you as a customer and has quality food. Highly recommend Thai House -- yet to find a good sushi place out here so that'll continue to be my go-to for good food, good hospitality, and...

I hate writing this because I usually like writing positive reviews... but... We just walked out. My partner and I went across the street to Starbucks and we decided on the walk back we wanted sushi.

Upon entering, this young woman asked us where we'd like to sit. I interrupted her and asked if it was okay to bring in our drinks. She nodded and we asked to sit at the sushi bar in the back.

Upon sitting, a second woman asked us if we'd like menus. We said yes and she made a comment about our drinks in a playful way. Something along the lines of, "Whoa, Starbucks, this late?" We chuckled and stepped away.

A young man approached the bar shortly after and asked if he could get us drinks. I replied, "just two waters, please."

He brought back two waters and then said, "Like most restaurants, we don't allow food or drinks from outside." I told him that we had asked the young woman up front and he immediately went to the second server and brought her to the bar so she could confirm in front of us that drinks were not allowed from outside.

At this point, I felt like we should leave. Both his tone and demeanor felt aggressive. I didn't argue that against their policy, I simply said we asked ahead of time.

When the second woman confirmed, I stupidly said, "No, not her. The gal from the front." He then said she was new and it was her first day. Then left the bar and reprimanded her in Korean right next to us.

I FELT SO BAD FOR THIS GIRL. No one cared about the drinks except for him. I felt awful for the young sever who just started there. I felt bad for even wanting to eat there.

He said, "She's new and didn't know but now we've got that all sorted out." Who cares? What a jerk. We got up and left. I've never felt so gross at a restaurant in such a short period of time. I'm so sorry I even told that guy that she allowed the drinks.

There's a nice way to handle things but this guy had some sort of power trip about the drinks and would not let it go. I say this VERY sarcastically: great vibes...
