This park absolutely beautiful and great for easy walking with a stroller. The beauty of the park alone would be 5 stars but I am giving it a 2 star rating because of how rude the man who works here is.
I hate leaving bad reviews because generally I am a pretty easy going person and I can understand that parks have set hours and rules. I have come here twice now with my 2 children to go for a walk and BOTH times he has run out of the building telling me the park is closing even though there is still an hour until it closes. Today I got to the park at 5:55pm and he ran out of the building telling me they closed in 35 minutes. I said, "don't you close at 7?" And he went on a tirade about about how everyone needs to be back at their car at 6:45 to leave the park. Forgive me if I am confused but the park is open until 7...not 6:45. I understand it must get annoying when people stay too late and he has to wait before he locks the gate for the evening but come on! This is the second time I have felt like I need to just leave even though the park is open and not closing anytime soon. As I sit here typing at least 5 people have pulled up and gotten out to walk, and he has told them the park is closing so they all left. It is 6:30pm. It is a shame because people want to come and enjoy this place but are basically told to leave when there is plenty of time to walk around. I feel he could be nicer and just politely let people know the park closes right at 7pm and what the current time is without being rude and hostile.
Note: This review is for the side of the park that is privately funded NOT the side with the playgrounds...
Read moreIf you could give this a 0 rating that's what I'd give it. Went here to get family pictures done with our little girl who just turned 1. We also had our dog (6 lb papillon) who was going to remain in a basket in our shots. 1 thing for sure that makes this park the worst park in the state, is it's employees. It's a shame really because it has potential. I was here 2 weeks ago for a reunion and I saw a woman with her 2 grandchildren and also strapped to her chest was a small dog in a pouch. They were enjoying a nice stroll around the park. All I wanted to do was use a basket to put our small dog and our little girl in for a basket and ballon picture. I wasn't going to let the dog run loose. Anyway, about my experience a couple things to note. My dog is a service dog and I have the documents to prove it but the woman who works there will not let you get a word in to explain. She was too busy repeating herself and threatening to call the police. So in order to not waste any more time, we left our dog in the car with it running and the AC on. Waking back to the car I grab my dog and the photographer and I walk out to the street, now we're on a public sidewalk, here she comes again to rant about the dog. The dog never stepped foot on the property and we took the pics anyway. This park is a waste if it continues to be run by unprofessional rude people. This is exactly why it has such bad reviews. What's it good for if...
Read moreIve always loved this old park. Im 47 and have pictures of myself as a child beside the pretty creek under the trees. The playground itself us much different now The creek and trees are the same but the upper level playground has been removed for what I dont know. The lower playground was intended for younger kids so my kid who is six is already too big for it. The soccer fields are still at the top of the hill as well as a dog park. There is bathrooms that I dont recommend using due to men I see going in there and hanging around outside of it.(creepy). The shelter down by the creek have a couple picnic tables and some old grills. I hope this park doesnt get closed and can...
