Waggertail Dog Park — Attraction in Riverdale Park

Update: 9 months later We still go to this park daily (sometimes 2x/day) and it's still the best dog park in this area - large space split between small dog area and large dog area, they've turned the water fountains back on for the season, and the trees are blooming. Unfortunately, when it rains, a big muddy pond forms in one section of the park. The dogs seem to love getting muddy but in the summer, this becomes more problematic. If the dogs drink from this still water, they can get quite sick.

Original Review: Love this park so far - have been going nearly daily for the last two weeks and my pup has a great time. Plenty of space, shade, fresh cool water, waste bags, and nice people and dogs. It's pretty clean and folks have been good at picking up after their dogs from what I've seen!

TIP: park on 51st ave instead of the parking...

Very nice. I arrived here a little early this morning. I am an animal lover and dog walker so I was scouting the area just to check it out. Because I was early there was no one there with their dog 🐕. However after finishing a phone call a young lady showed up with her friendly lab that seemed to be trying to say hi. She left swiftly after waving to me and I made my way as well.

There are a few balls and a toy bin for the dogs.

Two sections: Big & Small dogs.

A few tin plates for water or food.

It is near a playground and a walking trail with some exercise equipment.

Overall a very pleasant feeling. Would definitely bring my dog or dogs here. Well kept and pleasant and helpful surrounding areas.

I like the dog park. At the park there are two separate areas one for the big dog one for the little dogs. I have a Pomeranian so naturally I would want to go over to the small dog section. However the small dog section of the park is pretty much a swamp and really unusable so everybody goes To the one side which was meant for big dogs... it wouldn’t really be a problem if I didn’t have such a small dog but everybody there is friendly the dogs are friendly and it’s a nice park. I just really wish that area would get cleaned up because my dog is a bit on the timid side and gets quite overwhelmed by...
