Ooof. What should have been a fun experience has turned into an absolute nightmare. The studio is nice, the teachers are fine, but the administration is absolutely horrible and should not be trusted with anyone's credit card information. I saw the sign outside for the $10 intro class while driving by and decided to try it. At the front desk, I told them I'd like to try the $10 intro class, and they said ok, took my card, and had me sign in on the daily sign-in sheet. They did not verbally tell me this would be a recurring fee (or explanation), and I did not get a receipt or sign anything. I went to the class and then about 40 days later started getting $150/month charges. I have two toddlers and some unexpected bills, so I didn't notice this for 4 months. So I call the studio and leave messages, and I also use their text app. Nothing. I don't want to give a terrible review to a local business, but I thought maybe that would finally get their attention. I posted my review, called back, and they answered on the second ring. The person on the phone apologized (although not completely sincerely) and asked me to remove my review, and she would refund me the 4 months I was charged, and said that she'd make sure staff are better trained and more responsive to customers' calls. Ok fair. So I take down my review--because I don't want to hurt a local business, and they fixed the problem. Well, they never took me off whatever subscription list they have me on, and I've been charged another 3 months. I still couldn't get through to them on the phone or via their website, so this time I've disputed it with my bank, and it's taking forever to resolve. I'm back to posting this review because it's true. Bikram Yoga Works does not have the business acumen or organizational skills to handle people's credit card information and membership status. What was supposed to be a wellness class has turned into a financial nightmare that has lasted 7-8 months. They had so many opportunities to avoid this (better new customer orientation/paperwork/correctly handling the mistake the first time), but they've fallen short and look...
Read moreMy experience with the Riverdale location has been BEYOND horrible. I booked a cryotherapy session for 2/10, that was confirmed two days before, and when I arrived I was told after being there for a good 15 mins, that there was no nitrogen. I was told that someone should have called me. As I was standing there, I get a call saying that there was nitrogen and I would need to reschedule. I rescheduled for 2/15. On 2/14, the appointment was confirmed and when I show up on 2/15, the woman tells me, “So sorry, there is still no nitrogen.” When I asked why no one called me, her lame excuse was that they have a small staff. Next she admits she was the one who confirmed the appointment with me, but not once did she answer why she didn’t call me back to let me know not to come. I took a 25 min ride each time. She gave so many excuses. She refunded my gift certificate, despite me telling her that I am a traveling nurse and my assignment would be ending that week. I can’t use the gift certificate as I live in a totally different state. Also, a friend and I had left our number on three separate occasions for someone to reach out and schedule a flex massage and not once did anyone call us to schedule. When I reminded her of this, she only gave the same lame excuse about having a small staff. Some individuals just should not be able to run a business. DONT GO THERE! Find a better yoga studio, especially since they have such a small staff.
2/23/2024- Please do not respond like everything was resolved. You called and yes I did answer. I turned down your offer because the only reason you called me was because of my review. You waited several weeks and if you had not seen my review, you would not have tried to reach out and apologize for your disorganization. You do not listen at all. I told you that I was on a travel assignment that ended today, you wanted me to come today to get a service, when I am already packed and ready to go back home. So, my answer was "no" this call should have come the very next day when I was turned away for the second appointment I made, and you confirmed. My review stands PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT...
Read moreThis review is long overdue. I have been taking classes at Bikram Yoga Works for since December 2024. I started out buying a 5 pack of classes, was hooked so I bought a 40 pack of classes, and finished those soon after that I went ahead with a membership. Best decision ever.
There is such a variety of classes that I always have choices in what I want to take -- whether I am in need of a hot pilates class, a full mobility class with FLEX'T, or my favorite full body workout -- DRIP'T. The community that is created amongst other members and with the instructors is what makes this studio so special. Everyone is so supportive and motivating. There are classes that I genuinely look forward to taking every week.
Cristina's energy and ability to make me push my body to the limits make me want to work out at 6am in the middle of the week and 10am on a Saturday! Colin pushes us to our limits in DRIP'T Heavy and has helped me become stronger each week. Scarlet models perfect form and pushes us towards an incredible workout, Dr. O helps me strengthen my core while offering amazing words of encouragement, and Brian drives us hard while making us laugh. There are so many I missed and I could go on and on about every single instructor because they are all so talented and meant to teach! (And this is all coming from a fellow educator!)
I also need to shout out the newest service I experienced this past weekend at the studio: Stretch Therapy. HANDS DOWN the best stretch of my life. Colin has the ability to destroy us in a DRIP'T Heavy class, while also providing the most thorough and focused stretch. He was very in tune with my body and was able to support me through some of the deepest stretches I have ever experienced. Colin, you are a beast!!!
All in all-- amazing classes, amazing sweat sessions, amazing instructors....
