This park is beautiful and for many it would be perfectly ideal. I wish I could rate it higher because there are some really great features here, but there are some key elements that are lacking.
PositivesāThis is a great park area for walking, running, and biking. The proximity to the wider natural environment is beautiful and made for a great walk. The walking trails have good signage, thereās plenty of trash bins, and a small playground. This park is probably better for parents with kiddos who are 10 and under given the equipment available. There is also a skate/ramp course located here for kids and folks who may be looking for a good place to use their skates/board. Thereās good parking and accessible parking available.
I canāt really speak to the bathrooms because they close them for the season-so keep that in mind if you come here in winter. They do have a portable bathroom available if you so choose. Itās important to note that there is a residential home/property that shares multiple property lines with this park and they have a dog that barks at the fence. Additionally, the proximity to a very busy street, with zero fencing around any of the playground areas, and the signage lends one to feel as though you are absolutely āplaying at your own riskā. I do wish I could give this a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice little park. A good place to start your bike ride to Parkville and back. Go south out of the park and ride along Line Creek Trail to the end of the path then stay on the sidewalk to the Argosy. Cross the road to the Casino and go right on the sidewalk to the end of the Casino property past the grape vines, then turn left and ride to the end of the road to connect to the Missouri Riverfront Trail, a gravel path that runs west along the levee. Follow the signs to connect to the asphalt section of the path which winds through a short section of well shaded beauty. Just after you cross the wood plank bridge, look for the new path to the left which (I assume) takes you to English Landing Park in Parkville. Very nice ride with little or no pedestrian traffic although the ride along the levee can be windy and very hot...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place? It's great, there's a park for kids and down the hill there's a park for skateboarding. Not only that, but you can reserve the shelter for a party or a grill-out, which I had done for my 12th birthday (2016). There's bathrooms and a water fountain. There is a bike trail that leads all along Line Creek. I mostly pass by on my bike, but from my experiences as a kid, I found it to be great!
I wouldn't recommend a game of kickball or frisbee only because there's an open area of space where the ball/disc could hit a car. If it does, it wouldn't be the first time š.
One more thing, if there's ever an emergency, a police station is literally right across the 2-lane...
