Amazing place to vacay!!
If it's not for the jellyfish I will say it's paradise. We went on August 20th and the quantity of jellyfish was just ridiculous all the kids were crying and you get paranoic while you are swimming. The water its so clear, perfectly warm but the stains from the jellyfish were not fun. By the office you can get a special salty water/vinegar botlle if it's really bad.
You need to take a ferry to the island it's just literally like just 5 min distance the price it was around 20$ per adult something like that. You can book with time and spend the night in the camping area.
We are a camping family so of course we stayed, the space it's for 10 people but you can't set more than one tent so make sure to either bring a big tent if its a big family or to rent a bigger space that allows more than one tent. 😉
They have an special code for camping people for the private closed indoor showers in the bathroom area. There are filtered water filters, bbqs and where to charge your electronics, if you can bring an extension it's very good idea because there's just like 2 ports for everyone there.
🏕 The camping experience here was amazing, it's the perfect combination to not be so uncomfortable with no clean water, toilet and some electricity but you can still set up your tent make bbq, theres even an area to make a bonfire and cook some marshmallows.
Definitely we will be back next year it would be nice to know when there's no jelly fish. I asked some people around and apparently it's just like to play the lottery 🤷 no one...

If looking just to relax, bbq as for they have bbq areas where you can bbq to your hearts desirdesire or content, Or if looking to camp out for the night or weekend you are in the right place. Also surrounding the island are many sand bars where you can walk out on to basically 30-50 feet out and still have that clean, clear florida ocean water at your waist. On weekends the island gets busy with many boats that's tie up together and everybody hangs out and has a great time. They also have events like floatopia and many others during season. They also have a lagoon that's sectioned off to go swimming ad well as many little inlets to go snorkeling. They're are also public bathrooms on the island. Bottom line if your in the area don't pass up the chance to experience peanut Island and jump on the ferry and take a...
Read moreNever go on holidays and weekends!! It is incredibly crowded. Everyone on the island plays music as they wish, the smell of barbecue surrounds you. You can have a miserable day when yachts and jet skis are docked on the shore. I don't know what it has to do with jet skiing on the reef, but if you want to, the fee is $70, of course excluding tax and tip. They also sell ice cream on the boats around. It has turned into a complete business. What a shame!!
However, it would be such a beautiful place if there were no people... Although the reefs are incredibly beautiful and suitable for snorkeling, even the fish run away from the crowd. If you go on a calm day, you can be alone with peace, quiet and nature.
There is also a camping area on the island. The toilets were cleaner than I expected. But you don't have the chance to take a shower. I think they cut off the water for...
