I would give Priority Roanoke -5 stars if it were not for Larry Dunn. Larry and my family have spent years doing business together and had all enjoyed the 20+ year relationship starting out as Rick Woodson Honda, then Priority, but over the last few years we have seen the service levels, family feel, and downright deceptive practices of this dealership. Examples include tearing up a seal in our 2013 CRV that caused an oil leak during a recall repair then denying they did it. Took it to Duncan Honda and they confirmed the seal had been damaged. Sold the vehicle after and bought Toyota. Brother-in-law buys a 2019 Honda Civic Sport (first car in over 20years) and when it goes through detail and his brand new car comes out for him to leave in there is a huge dent above the door and Priority tried to get him to leave in it hoping he would not notice it and drive off the lot. He noticed it and what happened after that is another story in itself. Fast forward to 2021, Larry makes my wife a great deal on a close out 2020 Honda CRV that was new. 3yr/36,000 mile warranty my butt. Front brake rotors warped at 12,700 miles. Took it to Priority to have replaced under warranty and we were told brake parts were wear and tear and were only covered for 12,000 miles. Priority’s way of performing excellent customer service was to cut us 25 dollars off the brake rotors resurfacing to us only having to pay $189. Great way for Honda and Priority to throw shade on the customer. Took the CRV to Duncan again and they at least split the cost of the repair with us. Then this past week my wife is getting ready to head out town for the summer and has 20% oil life left in her car and was told Priorites for Life covered oil changes as long as they were at 15% oil life or less??? WTH??? They said it would be $86 if we brought our CRV in earlier. We were specifically told by Larry when the vehicle was purchased we could bring the vehicle back in for an oil change every 5,000 miles. A year and a half ago we call to make an appointment and were told to let the light go off then call to bring it in and I said this wasn’t happening and they took care of it and now this. So my advice would be to take the extra time to drive to Duncan for your Honda service needs. They have educated personnel that have been there a long time. The service manager has been there forever. This is my two cents worth. It’s not always sunshine and roses at Priority even though they make it seem that way at...
Read moreI live an hour away so I set an appointment and came in for my priorities for life oil change and state inspection. I just moved to the area so it’s my first time using this location, but have been to the Hampton location numerous times (my partner worked there for 4 years so he knows the ins and outs). I’ve never had an issues with the Hampton location.
I show up 1/18 to get my services done with my oil on 20% and state inspection expiring 3/23 (I realize I still had some time for the inspection, but figured it couldn’t hurt to ask since I’m an hour away and wouldn’t be able to make the trip for the next few months). I was told since I wasn’t at 15% I couldn’t get my oil changed and it’s too soon for the state inspection so I’d have to pay to get them done. (When booking online, it said nothing about the requirements so I think it’s be beneficial if there was a heads up). On my hour drive home my oil change light came on and I was at 15%.
Since this store is the closest option for hours, I rebooked online for 1/28 for the same services, but the only option available was to use the shuttle so my partner and I planned on using the shuttle while we wait. We drive an hour to get there, they let us know that they don’t have the shuttle on Saturdays and that it was going to be a 5 hour wait and they’re currently on lunch (which I get, people need to eat- no big deal).
At this point, I just want to go to a different location, but they work it out to where it would be closer to 2 hours and we can wait in their wait area. Thankfully it ended up being closer to 1.5 hours. In the future, unless something changes, I’d rather pay full price at other businesses than use my priorities for life (which is a shame because I always tell people how great of a perk it is and recommend Priority). Please update the website for scheduling so that it lists the requirements and doesn’t falsely show shuttles available when...
Read moreVery sneaky I would be very careful when dealing with Priority Honda in Roanoke.
Upon arrival to receive a simple diagnostic check for some lights appearing on my dashboard, I was unaware of any style of charges or fees. I walked out paying $155 for a light check.
Now, the fact that I was charged that much for that diagnosis and was charged nothing ($0) at a Christiansburg Honda Dealer for the SAME DIAGNOSIS isn't all that is upsetting me. It's not the service ($155 for us to use a plug-n-play receiver that reads the codes off to us. All we gotta do is pencil them down). What is making me boil is the fact that from the time of the phone call made until after the service had already been performed, I had expected no charges or fees because not a single technician I had talked to mentioned ANY. But come time to retrieve my vehicle, "OH! There is a $155 fee! Cash or credit card, sir?"
I've been in contact with the service manager regarding this. He's got an answer for how he believes the service price is fair, but no response to the the fact I was not given a price for the service prior. No response has been given so long as this review is up.
I feel completely scammed out of my money by this service department. It should not be THAT hard to find a trustworthy dealership service department, ESPECIALLY a Honda one. If you have any need to run diagnostics or have repairs done, I'd trust the Christiansburg site. If not, i highly reccomend asking the price of the service you are to recieve. I would highly recommend staying away from the...
