We actually went to Red Robin in the Town square. The food was good, though a big burger with all those generous trimmings would've held together far better in a kaiser roll & not a soft bun.
So, the food was good.
Our waitress...the only waitress, they only had one server was polite, efficient & helpful. One server?
You mean to tell me the management had no resources to get more help? No former employees? None of the other help could step up? Though some did step in for minor assistance -- water, soda, napkins.
A group of 6 men came in. They were told there was only one server & it would be at least a 10 minute wait. They all left.
What? At an average burger plate of $14.00 on the menu -- I did the math in my head: that's about $84 walking out the door & they looked like men who would have had a beer with their meal & side orders.
A minimum of $125 loss on a weekday walked out that door.
The manager should have stepped up & took their order.
I managed a similar establishment years ago...turning those 6 customers away would've resulted in firings, starting with the manager.
You have to improvise, adapt & overcome -- you do want to stay in business don't you Red? I never turned anyone away from my door.
They'd only go across the road to the competion. I guess somewhere Cracker Barrel, a Perkins, Applebees, or a diner is grateful.
The food is good, the help efficient. No complaints.
The decision to stay working with only one piston results in a crash landing if you're not careful.
Who knows how many people those disappointed 6 men are going to blab to after they were turned away. That's going to be telling.
Too many establishments like Red Robin have bit the dust -- not good to turn anyone away. Even in the age of Covid.
Only one server? Not a good business habit. I've gone recently into Perkins Restaurants at 2:30 on a weekday & they were filled. Why? What r they doing that Red Robin isn't? Red Robin has the luxary of being in a mall that has some foot traffic during the day.
I don't like to see fine eateries like Red Robin gamble on not making their nut by the end of the day. You have to pay your cooks right? Lease? Insurance? Provisions?
You lost $125 in less...
Read moreAlthough I'm giving this mall a 4 star rating it more than likely actually deserves a 3.5 purely because half of the stores in the mall have now become drop shipping stores. Which is unfortunate, this is my childhood mall. I used to go here to the Disney store, the justice, the hot topic etc etc. But it's lifeless now, there's so many stores selling fake merchandise it makes me wonder if they even fact check these people? Seriously, half the stores are empty and don't get any traction. My friend and I were so excited to see a new toy store, only for it to be reselling fake bootleg toys that were made in multiple different Asian countries and that just made me so sad. Like beyond sad, there's like 3 Chinese tea places and two have been there since I was a kid. 10/10 love those stores but there's a new one and I haven't seen a single soul in it. There's a indigenous store that takes up like a huge part of the upper floor and the owner makes half the mall reak of nasty cheap incense and most of the things he's told me we're imported from Ecuador or other South American countries to which he slaps giant fees onto. There's legitimately like 5 reseller stores and It bums me out. imagine having space to give lush a nice large store but instead it's slapped into a spot where you can barely walk inside of. Genuinely I don't get it, I'm ranting and raving about all my issues but I love this place. But seeing it slowly die because of awful stores is so upsetting to me. (There's a store that's so empty that they had to fill half of the store with calenders) Just ugh overall, the food court is probably the saving grace of the mall currently because I legitimately only go for the food court and the books a million located directly under it. Oh and build a bear, it's still it's original style which is very nice. Hope that doesn't change because I feel like if it did, the mall wouldn't be the same anymore. I'm so serious, folks who run this mall, please please please get official stores to replace those awful ones. I'm not trying to be mean to the small business owners but they're taking up space and selling poor quality products and I just can't stand to see that at...
Read moreMy friend and I decided to go to lunch and we picked Red Robin because we both had good experiences in the past. Today was not a day for good experiences. Even though when we arrived there were hardly any customers it was obvious that they were severely understaffed. The girl who took our drink orders said that she would be waiting on us and yet another girl came and said that the first one had too many customers and even though she herself was tending bar she would be our waitress. She took our order and we waited for our food. It came in a reasonable amount of time.
When you order a burger at Red Robin you have a choice of pink or not pink. Since I cannot stomach well-done meat I ordered pink. When my burger arrived it was so well done that the edges were actually black. I also ordered sweet potato fries and they were cold.
Last time I was at Red Robin's they had nice burgers but they've obviously cut back on the amount of meat that they put in them. Even though the menu said this was a half pound burger it couldn't have been more than a quarter pound
We waited and waited for our waitress to return but she never did. I saw the host seating another table and asked him to tell her to come over but again she never did. I finally flagged down a different waitress and explained the problem and she took my plate away. By this time I had already eaten half of my friends meal because I didn't want to wait any longer. I told them to simply take it off the bill
Eventually our waitress came over and I asked her if the other waitress had told her what happened and she said no. So I explained it again and she agreed to take my meal off of the bill.
I told her to just bring our bill so that we could pay and leave. I was afraid that we would never see her again. And by then the place was packed so my sympathy goes out to anyone else who was there today.
I will seriously think twice before going back to Red Robin because there are so many other good places to eat...
