Lengthy review!! Be cautious with your belongings when staying here. I stayed here with my family after selling my home for almost 3 months and there were a few turn of events. The worst is that my son's prescription meds and supplements were disposed of by housekeeping as well as a blanket I had in the room. I assume by accident. I expressed this to Towanda at the front desk and she was very attentive and contacted the head of housekeeping. He asked the housekeeper who cleaned the room and of course she said she didn't see any meds. There after, one of the housekeepers approached me with my lost blanket and said it was mixed up in housekeeping laundry. But the housekeeper who cleaned the room said she didn't see the medicine or the blanket. Hmmmm.... The meds were in a fullscrpit cardboard box which she probably thought was trash but because of the language barrier I doubt she even understood or did not want to admit her mistake.
Towanda then reached out to the acting manager Christina. because the general manager was away at a conference. Christina never reached out to me. I found out later that she sent an email stating "What does she want us to do about it?" This is highly unprofessional. I reached out to the customer service line and was emailed about 3 weeks later from the general manager with a condescending email. He accused me of speaking with the acting manager (Christina) which I did not and told me he reached out to me because I called customer service and told them I wasn't contacted by anyone which was the truth. He tried to rectify the situation by giving me 20,000 points on my next stay. Why would I want to stay at any of these establishments again?? He also said that the medicine was never recovered so there is nothing they could do. My son needs his medicine and not to mention it is very expensive and this is all the compensation you could give me? Not to mention I found 2 roaches in my room and had an exterminator sent to the room only after 2 visits to the front desk and a email to the general manager. Also there was extremely Low pressure in the bathroom sink and toilet. Housekeeping did not come to clean the room in almost two weeks of us checking in so we began cleaning the room ourselves and we requested to be on the no clean list since we weren't getting any service anyway. So why was housekeeping in the room to begin with?? That was not acknowledged either. No further investigation was done and I am still trying to recoup what I lost for my son's medication. For the amount you have to pay for an extended stay rate, the service is unacceptable. There are many other hotels in the area. Make this one your...
Read moreHad stayed at the Townplace Suites before when visiting family in this area. This time there was no availability there, so I booked the Homewood Suites for the 2 nights we were in town, even though I was aware the reviews for this hotel weren't as good. Of all the Homewood suites I stayed at over the years this one is by far the worst. Starting with check-in, the front desk clerk was very uninformative. No recognizing my Hilton Honors membership, no instructions on amenities or breakfast hours, etc. After settling in I went to the lobby to get some hot water for tea, and found the water was barely luke-warm. Heated it in the microwave in the room. Breakfast next morning was equally disappointing. This location doesn't have the belgian waffle maker that all other HW suites I've stayed at does. The usual omelettes/sausage selections were just as cold as the hot water was (again). We decided to eat breakfast at a nearby diner the next morning. Other things we noted: the drain under the sink was dripping water the first morning of our stay, and I noticed there was tape (not duct tape, brown tape) wrapped around the drain pipe leading to the trap! The shower curtain rod was badly bent, and the anchors at either end were loose in the wall. There were spackle spots next to each anchor, and I realized when I took a shower that the tub is so slippery many people must have grabbed the curtain instead of the safety bar, which explains why the anchors were pulled out of the wall! The front desk personnel was always someone different from Friday night to Sunday when we went to talk to someone, and nothing was ever fixed. This location is badly in need of renovation and upgrading. There needs to be an overhaul of personnel (in terms of continuity and wanting to help), and the food needs to be HOT. The cost for 2 nights was outrageous compared to the condition and service of this hotel, especially since we've experienced the Townplace...
