I am so glad to have found this little gem. When you first walk inside you will not be able to tell that this is a consignment store. It has the look and feel similar to a store like "Forever 21". My first visit was made to sell some clothes for cash on the spot. Let me tell you that I am close to 50. My clothes are the classic designs by Anne Taylor, Jones New York, Ann Klein, and the like. This is not that kind of store. It's target audience is in the late teen to middle twenties who wear the Designer Brand of the week and grace the front pages of Teen, Vogue or Cosmopolitan. (The last two mags may be too old - which tells you the last time I held a magazine in my hand and not read just a snippet on the internet). Their stock is flawless. Don't bother bringing your stained Target brand clearance item. They won't even look at it. This store favors their shoppers needs, wants and desires. They are spot on pricing their items to reflect their knowledge of how much that age group is earning and willing to spend. And then they go lower. Classic marketing technique 101 - Make the customer feel that your store has the best selection, quality, up to date fashions at the lowest prices in town. Look no further than right here....there is no need to shop around. And they have mastered that technique. I will never shop in a "Real" store again. Even though I am not in their targeted age group I found many items to buy. But, I was there to sell. This was not the place to make money selling my clothes. I brought in approximately 15 items. Each item was in excellent condition and a designer brand that although very expensive, not desired by their customers. They bought one item. I made $4.25. I have no idea what they even bought. I think I spent more in gas just to get there. But, it was not a wasted trip. I have many items that are perfect for their store. I just grabbed one box of clothing that hasn't fit or been worn in years and ran out the door . So, next time I will gather up my Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors and Big Buddha (plus many more) trending styles and sell on Wednesday so I may also buy on Wednesday and receive an additional discount. Most cash for clothes consignment stores will give you more in store credit vs cash in hand. But check them out on the web. All u need to know is right there. But you don't get the "feel" of who shops there unless u check it out in person. It will not be a wasted trip. Hope this...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlease hear me out as I go to this store 3 times per month. I sell once a month and purchase twice a month between 1-3 items. Selling: You are only going to receive a good value if you bring items in New, Like New or Very Good condition and usually branded ones. Yes, there are things in worse condition in the store but remember that does not mean they have purchased those items. When you are selling they are "the buyers" .They have the right to say no to your entire box!. Why? because they dont buy base on having but on needing certain things. Which if you are not looking to their inventory you would not know. There is no reason for bashing a business like this just because they didn't buy from you . On average I bring 30 - 60 items they only take 5-8. Buying: Customer service deserves a 3 star review. The two ladies always at front in the register are indeed the most kind. People in the dressing rooms are always with an attitude. They keep telling you "bring your items outside". Excuse me, if I am in a rush and need to buy something quick why am I supposed to take care of that. If one employee is not enough to keep dressing rooms neat then, called two over there because as far as I observe ladies are all the way talking upfront when no customers are selling their items or in line. I visit other thrift stores in the area. You guys need to have an space only for new items . Seriously! try it . One of the stores (another company) in kensington has done this and the manager has told me they sell out quick. Have at least one associate on the floor to help with purchases and is not fair not to combine coupons. Also, the girls in the floor when you ask a question and they are taking care of the racks almost always they answer: " I don't know " .Listen, go ahead and help the customer find the item that it needs or something similar, show that you care . Learn from other retail stores that follow this model of customer service. Finally, I have worked 6 years in retail, studying for marketing and human resources. I hope the manager of this store go through this review and seriously pay attention to the things...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're bringing in clothes to give away in exchange for cash, you will not receive the full cash resale value but rather 20% to 25% of the resale price. Even with the tags on it, so really do some research if your looking to cash in decently for clothing in great condition if not new and never worn make sure you understand that if it cost $100 you're not getting that in return....not even $50...it depends on the item, condition and their pricing. If your not looking for money in exchange Goodwill is more than happy to take your clothes freely. *********šš āļøIn repsonse to Emily the owner, I appreciate your reply. My review is realistic, the purpose is to inform people that the trade in value is not high. So for folks who are looking to make a decent return even for items new or with tags ...or even gently used, I wanted people to understand what to expect before they drive there and possibly waste gas. Your store has a nice variety of items the staff can be stiff. Overall it's a clean store but the reality is while your listing you store bills that is still not the consumers problem nor their business. I think you mean well but at the end of the day other businesses don't need to clarify this. If your a trading company it's important that people know how that business is conducted if they are looking to make any sort of profit off of their own property they sell. It's not a diss is an informative review. I've shopped there in the past and made a few simple purchases. I have even brought my own clothes ( and I have very nice clothes might I add so I wasn't bringing in off brand items) there tags and that's why I'm letting people know. If your looking to make money back close to the purchase price your not going to not even $10-15 under it will be 20-25% of that....therefore if someone won't make anything to cover the price of one gallon of gas on whatever they're bringing then donate it to good will, it's the same merit to give...
