I have to say, it is a shame the pizza is so good and the service so bad. The pizza was done within 5 minutes of the order which was amazing. The pizza was extremely good and the lunch combo a great price for 2 slices of pizza and a drink. However; the customer service is poor. I was trying to order online and for some reason whatever website I was using to order it was giving me trouble . I called to ask for assistance and he told me I can’t order single slices in the phone. That is fine … but also I am having troubles with the app so good customer service would be to a) help the customer figure it out or b) make an exception since it was something not their fault. As I tried to ask for help he was just really vague and unhelpful. I was trying to trouble shoot basically by myself and once I kind of listed everything out because he wasn’t helping me at all; finally I happened to say something he could comment on. He told me they didn’t have that type of pizza…. When I get there he comes to the front and I say I am here for a mobile order. He just stared at me sarcastically for about 3 seconds and opens his eyes a little wider at me. Then says for who? I was already irritated with my fist less than ideal interaction with him and I said you have to tell me what you want a name or an order number. The facts are that every restaurant is different some want name and some want order number. It wasn’t the craziest thing to wait and see which one he wanted. This man is unpleasant to have to deal with, sarcastic and I felt condescending. The pizza is good but I might thing second about going again because of the attitude of the employee. It was completely unwarranted because at no point up until the end when I was fed up with his attitude was I rude. I hope management sees this and has a talk with this individual working 3-3-24 at 3:00PM. Customers or anyone for that matter or fact should have to deal with someone acting like this if they have been...
Read moreThis review is for people who grew up with NYC area pizza local to where they lived. I myself grew up in northern New Jersey just outside of New York so I know what this is supposed to be, if done right.
For Montgomery county, this is the best New York pizza I've experienced yet. Here's why:
They use enough sauce (so many places basically make cheesy bread). These guys make sure there's enough sauce on the pie, which you can see where the crust meets the cheese.
It's actually a thin crust. New York style pizza crust should be thin and crunchy, just big enough to be able to hold a slice in your hands. So many places locally instead make the crust a big doughey undercooked air bubbly mess. None of that is here, just thin crunchy crust.
The cheese layer is slightly burnt and seasoned (this is a good thing). This is often overlooked and undercooked, and giving it a slightly burnt layer when cooking the cheese gives it a different flavor that you know when you're eating it if you grew up "up there".
They have all the right spices to add to season it, like parmesan, garlic powder, hot and regular pepper, and basil. I've lost track of how many local places don't have this on the table/counter, but you need it to season it correctly.
What's impressive is the owner (who is from Brooklyn as I understand it) trained everybody here to make it the right way and they just do it even if the owner is not there (which he was not the day I went there to try it out for the first time last Friday).
Take it from a New York Pizza snob, it's worth going there and it's right on Rockville Pike in the shopping strip just after Taco Bell (if heading up the pike) about halfway between twinbrook and Rockville Metro on...
Read moreCS NY just might be the best pizza parlor in Montgomery County. The ingredients they use are fresh and tasty; not an ounce of grease pooling on the tops of these pies. It's real no-nonsense, authentic New York thin crust style 'za. The staff here is very friendly and dedicated to providing customers with quality service. It's super easy to become a regular at this place.
Their wings, salads, and other side items pack serious punches as well (especially the wings - get the Asian chili!) in terms of portion and taste. Lots of pizza places have other entrees available which are often closer to filler options than real choices. This menu has no frills or filler - everything on it is a serious item and seriously delicious.
If I had a knock against this exceptional business, it would have to be the price. While nowhere near the cost of places like Matchbox, the pricing for a 14"/18" pizza seems a little high. With only a $4 difference, it makes little sense to ever order the 14". The cost has never deterred me from eating here, as once I start to crave it, nothing can change my mind as to...
