Woodley Gardens Park — Attraction in Rockville

We had reserved and paid for use of the Pavillion and surrounding area for a family reunion. When we got there, there was a baseball game happening not far from the Pavillion. The baseball folks were all camped out sitting on chairs and blankets on the ground under the tree not more than seven feet from the Pavillion. We couldn't set up our tents, tables and chairs until they left at 2 pm. We have a large family and have 125+ people who attend; we were all crammed into small space until the baseball families left. Then another baseball game started and we were unable to have our own family baseball game because the diamond was in use. One of the worst parts is that the parking lot was JAM PACKED with cars from the baseball folks and it left very few spaces in the parking in the lot for our family. SO BEWARE and ask if the park is also booked or will be booked for another group at the same time of you want to book here. We are going to look for another place, which is a shame in a way because our family has been coming to Wooley Gardens for...

There are benches and picnic tables here. The ones under the pavilion were in use for a birthday party, but I quickly found two more under tree shade next to the playground. If you want to walk for exercise it would probably take a few minutes to walk around the outer perimeter, with a ton of grass tennis courts and stuff in the middle. But for me I’m honestly getting more exercise during the 30+ minute walk it takes me to get here because there’s only so far you can go within the park before going in a loop...

Three big playground equipment ateas. Teeter totter and swings and slides. Lots for climbing and playing. Basketball half court, 4 tennis courts,a paved circuit around the upper part of the park, flat area prob soccer practice field, facilities bldg, baseball diamond with bleachers and a cute creek and another grassy lawn.
