I've been coming to this restaurant since pre-pandemic and it seems to have gotten worse over time.
I haven't ordered for a few months, but wanted to get rice cakes today so I decided to order from here over phone.
I got three dishes to go. When I picked up my order, I reviewed the receipt stapled on the takeout bag and noticed one of the dishes was different than what I had ordered. I asked the worker if the dish in the takeout bag was the same as the dish I ordered (I pointed to the item on the menu). She said it wasn't. I said confused, "Oh, I ordered this menu item, not the one in the take out bag.")
And then she got hostile. She raised her voice and said, "No, that's NOT what you ordered.'
Really? You're telling the customer they did not order what they said they ordered?
Because of her hostile tone, I decided to leave as quickly as possible. I did tell her firmly, "Yes, I ordered this menu item." She kept arguing as I got out my money to pay for the order. "That's NOT what you ordered, I heard you loud and clear."
it's like if I went to a burger place and ordered a burger, was served a chicken sandwich and pointed this out, I would be told, "NO you did NOT order a burger, you ordered a chicken sandwich."
Then she said at the end, "Do you want to switch it?" But because of her terrible customer service, I already decided I just wanted to leave and never come back.
The remedy for this mistake is super simple. If a customer said, "Oh, I ordered a different menu item." ALL YOU HAVE TO DO is offer to switch the item. If she had since simply, "Oh, no problem, do you want to switch the dish to the one you ordered?" I had not even opened the take out bag, I was simply reading the receipt.
Maybe the owners were having a bad day or maybe they had dealt with an unpleasant customer earlier, whatever the case, they decided to take out their frustration on me. I am just one customer and perhaps they don't care if they lost my business, but as a business owner myself, I know for sure this nasty defensive attitude will not get you far.
Here's a recommendation: Add online ordering to your website. Then you won't have to mishear phone orders and you have documented proof on what the customer ordered.
There are many Chinese restaurants in the area, don't bother going...

The last time I went was a couple weeks ago.we planned for family lunch and I was doing something so I ended up showing late. But they're all use to that lol. Once I got there, all the tables were filled and I'm pretty sure we had the biggest table. It's a pretty small place. A lot of our dishes were served already. I was happy as I didn't have to wait.
I'm not good with the names of the dishes so I'll just describe what I got lol. Check out the photos attached for reference. We had beef with green peppers, spicy tofu, cucumbers, fish, salty chicken, wontons in spicy red sauce, pork soup dumplings, and Chinese pancakes - I think that was it.
Nothing can be that Shanghai flavor and style. I love the beef with green peppers and wontons in spicy red sauce. These are there classics I would say and they have so much flavor, juicy, as delicious. The foods never take long to prepare and serve so that is such a plus in my book.
Don't let the small square footage of the restaurant fool you. This just means it's easier to get a workers attention and for them to prep and serve the food. Great customer service and experience. It feels quite cozy in there as well.
It does get hella packed and busy during peak hours so make sure to call ahead of time to see if there are any open tables available. As of writing this, I don't think they use any online ordering services (they really should) so again call to check availabilities...
Read moreWe did a big order for our class Pork Soup Dumplings: WE thought they were delicious. Veggie dumplings: Recommended to any vegetarians, vegans or pescatarians looking for a good meal--very tasty! Veggie Spring rolls: Amazing, good texture not too hard. Chicken Low Mein - Noodles were a bit on the greasier side, but overall still tasty and delicious Shrimp Low Mein - GOOD - the students who got them Shrimp: Good, but a little too sweet, would prefer it to be a bit more savory. Would benefit from some vegetables Salty Crispy Fish: Very surprised at the appearance. It's pretty good, some of the fish were seasoned unevenly,. Wish it was even crispier and crunchy. Overall very good though. Eggplant: Good, Sweetness was unexpected. Soft with a nice crunch. One of the students had it for the first time and is now a fan Broccoli: Sweet with some spice at the end. Some of the students thought it was a touch too spicy. Very good and tasty. String Beans: Very saucy, so a bit soggy, but still very tasty. I would go with a little less sauce to make it less soggy.. Or sauce on the side. Orange Chicken. It was great, although it looked more red than orange
Overall our lass would...
