Lot's of great food for a small place. Wish they were bigger, but they are growing. Strange thing, you have to watch your basket, because contractor's messed up, and made the floor unleveled, so if it hits a shelf, things fall down. It happened. But luckily it didn't break.
But descent, and hope they continue to grow & grow. Wish they had some relaxing tea from Poland called Lipa, but they did have many there, just not that hard to find one.
Great location in Rocky Hill, for European & Mediterranean foods. They have things you wouldn't expect anywhere else. Foreign Cheetos were great. Different flavor, and it was good, and the only place to get them. Can't read most of the labels, but if you use "Google Lens" on your smartphone it will look it up for you, which makes it so much easier.
They need carriages with wheels that lock, because there are a lot of glass jars in there. Some shelves look scary leaning in the back left. Kinda funny, but tried to take a picture, but you can just turn the phone, so you have to see it for yourself. It has a monitor mirror, so people behind watch for theft, which keeps the prices down. They must ship foreign items which is expensive, especially now, so any losses have to be made up somewhere. So it's good that they are watching, and feel safe compared to other places. Nice people also.
Trust me if the shelf is to high, ask for help, because they have a lot stacked up.
They sell big bulk items as well.
Very interesting for a small market.
Glad I found it and it has been open for about 2 years.
It's right across from Saybrook Fish House which is an excellent place I took my mom for her Birthday. Noticed it was right across the street, and we bought a bunch of items, maybe to many, but sometimes you can't help it when you find great things. The owner was on vacation, but will order what you want as well. May take time, as it has to come from far away by ship.
I enjoyed the day of 8-13-2025.
They are open till 8pm which is also nice. Don't have to rush.
Don't forget use Google Lens in your phone, and take a picture of the foreign languages. There are many different ones. Practice using it. You can look for pictures, words, almost anything, and is a extremely helpful tool. Even helps find prices...like art and paintings, and old items.
Many different nationalities of...
Read moreI never write reviews, but I was treated so poorly at Euro Grocery that I felt the need to. I have been a loyal customer for over 2 years, the store has great items, but some of the workers are very rude and cold. I never let it bother me, but I went to exchange a bottle of olive oil since it was cracked. I returned the day after I bought it for an exchange, and explained that we realized there may have been a fracture crack since it was leaking and that we had not opened the bottle. I was given dirty looks and the 3rd degree, questioned for about 10 minutes and told over and over again "well the girls would've checked for cracks". They proceed to ask the cashier who just walked in who checked my mother's items out yesterday, "did you see this?" with a judgemental tone and looks thrown my way. After having to explain it over and over again as they kept interrogating me, I finally had to ask her to get to the point and if they're going to do the exchange. I spent 90 dollars, I don't need to be treated like a criminal for returning a bottle of olive oil. I'll be finding another...
Read moreEverything you need and more from the entire Europe. Specialized food store with amazing tasting food from Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Bosnia, Albania, Turkey, etc... From meat to sea delicacies, cookies, chocolate, honey, cooking & spreadable pasta, coffee, cheese, everything you want and did not imagine. Price? Well, some of them are at a very good price. Others are a little bit "spicy" but it is understandable because they're products outside of the US. Overall it deserved to go and take a look at least to make an idea about tradition and a little bit of culinary food recipes/ products from European countries. It almost imposible not to leave with something for home. Advantage, most of the products have also translation in English on their label. Very closed to the road, the owners are very kind...
