Malco Rogers Towne Cinema — Attraction in Rogers

I am really disappointed and disgusted by the lack of cleaning by this theater.!! I have frequented this theater many times before but never ever in my life have I ever experienced something like I did this evening.

After all the holiday chaos and long hours of working hard. I wanted to take my Husband out on a date to spend some quality time together after all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Time that we hardly get because of our grueling work schedules that keeps us from being able to make time for just each other.

I took my Husband to see the movie Nosferatu. I was excited about being able to spend that quality time together as previously stated that we don’t get much of.

Upon arriving to the theater I paid for our adult tickets at a kiosk and we made our way to theater 6 and sat in Row G seats 9 and 10. After the first 10 min or so I asked my husband if he smelled “that” he replied yeah. I said it smells like something rotten or rancid and he said yeah it smells like something’s dead. The smell was awful!!! I told my husband I’m going to see where the smell is coming from because it literally smelled like we were sitting on top of what ever it was.

A little halfway through the movie my husband was thirsty so I got up to go to the concession counter and ordered a drink to which they gave to me free because they had already counted out their drawers and ran their reports. I then told the concession clerk that there was an awful smell coming from the area we were sitting in and that there was nats flying around us.

He asks if we were in theater four and if we were then it was because it was above the men’s bathroom. I’m sorry but I’ve been in many nasty bathroom while traveling or as a patron of other establishments that have a lot of people that frequent the establishments. However none of them smelled like the awful stench and death smell that I was sitting in while watching a movie that I paid for my husband and I to go see.

We sat the entire movie together smelling this awful stench while trying to enjoy the movie and our time together. After the movie ended we immediately started investigating where the smell was coming from. We turned our lights on with our cell phones and looked under the seats. What we found was no surprise as it confirmed our suspicions that something was dead under the seats. Upon first glance we saw lots of trash and candy under the seats and then just two seats down from where we were sitting I spotted a glue trap that had a dead decomposing rat attached to it. I was sick to my stomach and dealing with a headache from sitting in that smell for over two hours in a movie I paid for. A DEAD DECOMPOSING RAT!!!!

the manager and concession clerk was waiting at the bottom of the stairs for us to leave so that they could inspect the area. I told them I had found THE DEAD RAT and was told that they had a third party company that came in to clean and they apparently were not doing their job. The manager apologized and met us at the concession counter and gave us two free movie passes.

I was livid that the malco staff themselves knew about the rat problem they apparently had because the manager stated they were aware they had a rat problem and that they were finally getting them under control.

If they knew about the problem WHY IS THERE JUNK FOOD AND TRASH STILL UNDER THE SEATS AND GLUE TRAPS THAT ARE NOT BEING CHECKED NIGHTLY ON A NIGHT TO NIGHT BASIS!!!

Upon my intentions to leave this review I decided to take a look at some recent reviews. One patron left a review just one week ago that there were mice scurrying the walls and floors in theater four.

So the concession clerk knew about the rat problem because he asked me when I went to get a drink for my husband if we were in theater four and if we were it was because the theater was above the men’s bathroom. I am literally sick to my stomach because of the smell we sat in for over two hours and cannot get the smell out of my nose. This is a health code violation and could cause serious health...

There is a 50/50% chance that the sound will be good. Some movies we've watched has the surround sound way off. Like the talking parts have no depth to it and no ambience on the sides and back. Just loud voices and loud bass and ZERO ambience.I keep having to let the staff know about this but they have not fixed the problem . Like the movies (Halloween Ends, TMNT Mutant mayhem, The Marvels.and other movies....) Spider-Man across the spiderverse actually had to restart after 15 minutes. I let them know the sound was off and they had to stop and resboot the sound and restart the movie. Dune 2 was way off too!! .. Again I complained. They checked and found nothing wrong.. So I had no choice to just move to theater 2 from theater 12 and rewatch 25 minutes because the movie had just started. And the sound there was amazing. I don't know why the staff is not trained to hear bad surround sound.or they don't care...This keeps happening over and over again. It's actually embarrassing having to go up there and talk to them about this everytime the surround sound is not how it should be.. I could go to the malco Pinnacle theater at the mall but I live 1 minute away from this theater why should I have to drive further and plus this theater has stadium reclining seats. I wish they could just simply check or reboot the sound before each movie begins because it's not cool. Money doesn't grow on trees, popcorn and snacks are expensive and thats cool but all I care about is a good movie experience for me and my famiy.I'm going to go see The new Godzilla vs Kong New Empire. I really hope the sound is good....

Kinda shocked when I purchased the tickets at how much they were the lady behind the desk was very nice was we were running a little behind our movie started at 420 we got there 425 but wanted to grab a drink and some corn there was a pretty good line what was irritating was there were only 2 people on the registers except for one person on the wine side. then some guy came out put his hands on hips huffed I realized that was the manager (jeremy i believe his name is blue shirt keys jingling) for concession he looked around at how busy it was walked down the row from one end of concession to the other didn't speak to anyone looked around again and then walked off and through the back door behind the drink area didn't even attempt to help I felt bad for the guys rushing around and yeah I was about 25 min late for the movie I should have timed it better but I feel like on a friday night with new movies dropping like "the crow" and blink twice there should have been some back up... really wanted to give less stars but great seats and the other people i dealt with were super awesome!!! But with that said that is no way for a manager to act no help he could have been helping make drinks or something to help the line go faster idk if there was something wrong with the other registers or what but I would never want to work for someone that couldn't pitch in...
