The only thing keeping me from a 5 star rating is the absence of convenient electrical ports for laptops, and sound proof study corrals for students.
But considering that this library was closed with no-hope only a few years ago, they have experienced a remarkable turn around.
The selection of books is average but you can find current and up to date publications on just about any topic. If you cannot locate the book you are after, the MelCat system is available here and you can get that book you need delivered straight to Romulus' circulation desk.
The staff are helpful and the WiFi is above average. You can stream videos, play games, or listen to music if you need.
All in all, kudos to the Library's new management and the continued positive progress.
EDIT 2/14/19: Electrical outlets at workstations were updated/added at some point since my previous review.
You can also find a seed library, garden club, and other programmatic opportunities. The Library continues to step-up it's game and management continues to do...
ย ย ย Read moreLibrary seems to be making an effort to make improvements where they can such as with the new outlets at tables and the added lounge chairs. One issue I have is with one staff member who's a little bothersome. It would be nice to add some quiet study cubicles. The children's section is for children and is not bad based on the assumed limited funding. It would be nice to maybe at a dividing wall to help reduce some of the noise in the children's section. Yet it would be even better to see the library expand and possible make use of the old court building now that the new court will be completed. Nonetheless, its a decent library and you can get just about any book/media, if its not there they partnered with other libraries that allow you to order books/media through...
ย ย ย Read moreThe staff is very kind and helpful! Clean and friendly environment. One of my favorite libraries!
They have great programs. I like that they have a variety of programs for kids, adults, and teens. Definitely check out the Sherlock Society, it's so fun and a great way to get out of the house. If you have kids, the Kids Crafting Club and Youth Maker's Space looks so much fun!
The renovation looks so good. I can't wait to see what the next renovation brings. If you need to rent a space for a meeting or club, they have good size meeting rooms.
The librarians are all very helpful, if you can't find an item apart of the collection they can order if from the shared libraries or may even purchase it!
Would definitely recommend...
