Clean to the Bone — Restaurant in Romulus

First i got to say when i pulled up to the building i almost left immediately. But you know what, the best food comes from hole in wall joints just like this. So we said lets go in. Was there last week from nc and im a bbq expert, i try bbq from every location I go to (its been all over the states) so I know good bbq and I have to say this hole in the wall place didnt let me down. The ribs were fantastic, they were not fall off the bone but had just enough bite to it to hold it on there. And that sauce! Let me just rave on the sauce for a second. It was so unusual but it paired so perfectly with the ribs! The citrus in it just took it to a whole new level. Out of all the places and states I've ate bbq this was some of the best sauce for ribs. The chopped bbq was good as well. The true smokeyness of both the ribs and bbq was just outstanding! This is EXACTLY how smoked meats should be, well done to them on that! Now they were heavy with the sauce on the bbq which is usually off putting and makes bbq not as good as it hides the true taste and smoked flavor but it didnt. I would still recommend backing off just a touch but im not from where sauce is common so cant say that will break them for this area. The 2 people behind the counter seemed nice and like they were doing their best to continue doing what they love to do. I will be back to that little hole in the wall joint again. This is a must try place regardless of the looks. And to make this place even better i just tried a true NC famous bbq a few minutes ago and let me tell you, it was TERRIBLE! So great job beating out an icon of NC bbq. If you brought your bbq down here to NC and left off the sauce I promise you that you will have a huge line to that...

So I had a hankering for some barbecue for lunch so I fired up the old Google machine and they recommended this place. Placed my order over the phone and was there in about 15 minutes. I gotta say this place is kind of a hole in the wall but I never judge anything by its appearance. When I walked in I was happily greeted and my food is ready to go so I paid and took it home. I've had a lot of barbecue and I really look out for the unique places that do things a little differently and this place did not disappoint. The sauce was surprisingly sweet which was definitely not a bad thing since I'm not a big fan of the same old same old. The brisket, so tender. The ribs, delectable, The mac & cheese was not the soupy kind which I really enjoyed but let's talk about those beans. Whatever magical sweet sauce was in those beans don't ever change that recipe, man was that good. The place was quite the experience there was a cute little old lady at the cash register that was obviously the wife and the man that was cooking he looked like a grandpa it was the perfect Mom and Pop shop when I entered the building I could smell them smoked ribs literally my mouth was watering just from the smell I knew I was in for a special treat the ribs were so good it was amazing not only did the taste good you could tell they were made from a Love of cooking and then you had the beautiful sides I had the beans and they had like a sweet little taste to them the coleslaw was fresh and handmade I actually felt like I was at their house at a barbecue and was having some of the best barbecue ribs I've ever had in my life it was unbelievable there is truly a gem in Romulus and it's called...
