Large dog area and small dog areas, with small “cages” where you enter and exit, so you can wash your dog off or let it watch other dogs if you are training for reactivity. Trees, overhead covering and chairs are always available for a nice, shady sit. Small trail goes around the large dog area so you can walk. Small agility area.
Always friendly people (so far). Sometimes I’ve seen up to 14 large dogs all together in the large dog area, which is a lot, but it’s plenty big for running even with that many. Usually I see about 5 to 8 dogs in the popular mid morning times.
Water and bagging stations are available, and generally used properly.
It’s hard to find the entrance. You need to turn at the flashing Fire Station light and then wind around to the dog park behind a lot of trees.
There is a nice walking path just outside the fence and some green grass areas also outside the fence if you need to train your dog in the presence of ‘other dog’ distractions. (That’s where I am with my current German Shepherd, just walking and watching as we work on listening to my voice.)
Another nice dog park is on Sierra Gardens, over near Douglas Blvd, near the Post Office. It has hills and trees the dogs can get lost in for a few seconds (fun for the dogs if they’re new to the park). It’s a single area, no small cages or small dog section. It does get muddier than Bear Dog Park, but it’s a nice option, too.
Roseville does a good job with...
Read moreI only go on the weekends, I can't review about the weekday. There is a small dog area and large dog area, separated, with a dog rinse station in between the gates. This review is the small dog side. Between 10am-12pm, there are a lot of dogs, and I'm aware towards the end of the day when it's cooler, there are a fair amount of dogs. Some shading from trees and coverings, with some chairs/benches. Very friendly owners, they always seem to have something to talk about which can be nice if you like to talk amongst strangers. There is access to a water fountain and dog water fountain below to fill up any water bowls the park provides. Access to dog trash bag and bins are available and seem to be always stocked. The grassy part in the middle can create mud with the dirt path around the grass patch, after a rainy day which can lead to muddy paws, but overall I prefer this park to others simply because my dog always has...
Read moreIt has 2 separate fields for large and small dogs. It lacks a decent facility to give the dogs water. Roseville has several dog parks and this one doesn't have a watering place for dogs to wade in or to fill up water bowls. People bring wading pools but they disappear. I think the city takes them because a few people complain. A plus is that it does have a separate place to wash your dog off when the dog gets muddy, because they will get muddy from the city watering the trees in the morning and evening. The dogs created their own muddy wading pool. This dog park had deteriorated over the last eight months and is the worse dog park I been to. The City of Roseville can do...
