Prairie Grass Nature Museum - Round Lake Area Park District — Attraction in Round Lake

I would recommend calling ahead, to make sure they are open, if you are coming just to see the museum. Our 3 year old is obsessed with Turtles, so we knew he would love this place. We came on a Sunday around 2pm, when they open up at noon, just to find out they weren’t actually open. The front desk said that they received a message that the museum would be opening late today, but had no idea when someone would be there. It was already two hours past their opening time so I don’t know what late meant to them, but we left with a pretty upset toddler. Stinks because we came specifically for that. Took my littles here today and it was so cool! It is a room and small but there’s plenty of stuff to keep the kids entertained. There’s turtles and a snake and even toys to play with.
