As a woman who believes in supporting other women and promoting body positivity, I was deeply disappointed by my recent interaction with Christa & Trish at Custom Design Swimwear.
According to my research, Trish founded the company in 2017 based on a mission to provide custom-designed swimwear and alleviate the frustrations many women face in finding well-fitting swimsuits when she herself experienced hardship trying to find the right fit for her body type. Despite their website's emphasis on inclusivity, self-confidence, and personalized experiences, my interaction with the company left me feeling disrespected, undervalued, and on the receiving end of dismissive treatment (once again). I was open, honest, and raw, hoping for understanding and support, only to be met with dismissal and a lack of empathy.
Additionally, my specific needs and concerns were ignored, and instead of asking questions or offering solutions or alternatives, I was met with a suggestion to purchase a generic pair that "might" help. This disregard for my individuality and the dismissive attitude towards my concerns were not only unprofessional but also contradicted the very values the company claims to uphold.
It's evident based on a previous experience in 2018 & my research that the articles and marketing materials portraying the company in a positive light are biased and geared towards their own gain rather than genuinely reflecting their commitment to empowering women. My experience serves as a stark reminder that actions speak louder than words, and despite their “core values” or “mission,” they failed to live up to their promises miserably.
I refuse to let other women endure the same mistreatment I faced. It is MY MISSION to share my experiences openly to ensure that no other women is subjected to the same feelings of inadequacy and disrespect from this company. Read moreMy name is Amanda Ertzbischoff. I have heard wonderful things about this place. That the suits last for years and are the absolute best. I was very excited to get my new custom bathing suit. I ordered my suit at the end of May. We went on our family vacation June 4th-12th. It was my first time wearing the suit when the bottom of the skirt came apart. Most of my vacation i walked around with strings hanging. The most disappointing part was when i took it in to fix the skirt i had them look at the top which was incredibly faded. The employee was appalled, she went and got the owner Trish. Trish just took one look and said "yeah that happens". I spent over $200 on a bathing suit and nobody told me it would fade within the first month?!? The only thing she offered was for me to purchase a new top for 30% off. That was nice, but i dont think i want to spend another $80 on a top that will just fade again. Very disappointed that the suits dont really last like they say. My other issue was i like to be as modest as possible. Most swim suits are cut pretty low, so i thought it was the perfect opportunity to custom make one. When i asked she said she would raise the neckline but she could only so far, but said it would be enough to cover my cleavage. It wasnt! I asked her again when i brought it in after my vacation and then she told me she could but then it wouldnt look like a bathing suit. So i guess to her it doesnt matter what the customer actually wants when they are spending alot of money on a custom bathing suit. The employee's are very nice! Read moreMy daughter had purchased me a facemask from this swimsuit company that had switched over to help out with the COVID-19. It was the only facemask that fit me properly and let me take it off and on Very easily. In fact I just wore it around my neck and when I needed it, it would be there. Which is why I liked it so much. After time I decided that I would like to purchase one for myself and I’m not to computer savvy and when I went on the website I ended up ordering a different style. And when it came in the mail I realized I had ordered a different kind and it no longer fit me the same way. I had also realize that there are no returns obviously because their face masks. When I decided to call the company and let them know of my concern I ended up reaching Katie. I believe she is a manager at that store she listened to my story and said she would make it right. I had no idea that three days later I would receive Not only the original two facemasks that I had ordered but an additional two of different colors but the same style which she knew was my favorite. She said the extra to wear as a gift from the company because as she was listening to me tell my story she heard me say that I was a caregiver. And that they would love to tell me thank you for my job and I hope that I like them at no cost. So when I opened my mail and realized I had received four instead of two I am immediately started cry out of thankfulness for somebody recognizing my work and they did not even no me.
