Blair Memorial Library — Attraction in Clawson

I come to this library because I live a block away. It's super cozy in here. My chief complaint would be that it's very, very loud. People come to a library for quiet; to focus, study, read, get work done etc. I thought anyways... I thought that was the purpose of a library. A quiet sanctuary of knowledge. I don't understand why, but they have LOUD toys for the children to play with and the tables to study at are right next to the children's area! Call me crazy, but that makes zero sense. You think they'd separate the two. If it weren't for the poor set up and the loudness I'd give 5 stars. I'm contemplating finding a new library and I really hate to because the staff is friendly and it's clean...

Nice library. Because of its size and setup the children's area is open to the tables around it. Sometimes it can get loud and quite difficult to focus. They have study rooms available, however if you like studying out in the open with just the right amount of distraction, you're sort of out of luck. If the noisier toys could be confined to an enclosed room where the sound couldn't travel as well, it could be a win for everyone.

It seemed like they had quite a few things for little ones, so that’s a plus. The staff here were super friendly...
