Allocate Tech Computer Repair — Attraction in Sacramento

Due to a problem last week when my PC tried to automatically upgrade its Windows 10 operating system version, failed, and then was unable to restore the previous version, I had no functioning computer. Since my PC was 9 years old, and had been repeatedly and unsuccessfully attempting to upgrade to the new version since December, I decided to just go ahead and get a new one, but keep the hard drives and copy the data. I tried to remove the drives myself, but after taking out the screws could not see what was still locking the assembly in. I took it to Allocate Tech, and the technician, Mik, removed the assembly and drives and said he would not charge me for something so simple and quick. He also anticipated that I would be copying the data, explained some of the problems I might run into when trying to do the C drive Users folder, gave some tips on how to get around them (in addition of course to searching Google for solutions), and how much it would cost to transfer the data if I could not and had to bring it back. I did experience a few problems, but got around them all with the advice he gave and did not have to use Google. I appreciate his performing this service gratis, and giving me the advice.

ps: my new PC only has one drive, and I am thinking of having it partitioned to separate the operating system from the data. If I decide to go ahead, I will be returning to Allocate for this service as I do not feel comfortable enough to...

At three o'clock today my computer crashed. I called up Mick at Allocate and he instantly knew what was wrong over the phone. He told me that my hard drive failed, knew how it failed, and knew how to fix it. He got all this from me just telling him that I heard a crackling noise coming from my computer. He not only gave me a very reasonable price, but had my computer up and running in less than two hours on that same day!!! He not only fixed it but managed to retrieve and save all of my computer files...my lesson plans that I spent years on...he saved. In the past, I've tempted to upgrade my computer but I will tell you now that other places take weeks just to look at it, and they charge bogus assessment fees that are inflated. Mick was extremely reasonable, straight forward, knowledgeable, and he delivered what was promised in UNDER the time he promised it. I went in to this shop to have a pc power supply looked at for repairs, because I know nothing of these things, and spoke to the owner . He checked out the unit , and found there was nothing wrong with it,. and that it was user error. So instead of charging me, like I know what most shops would do. He said no charge which will always make me go back to his business , because of service like this. He spent quiet a bit of time giving me knowledge on my product as well as informing me of other options to what I was doing. He will always get my business because of this kind of great customer service.
