I went here couples of times with my family in the past and it isn't so bad. In my experience, it's great park to play sports and run around. What I recommend is, always go with someone because you never know what could happen and it's also a big Park, so is better to go with some friends/family members. I also have an experience on the other side where you can go fishing and it's wasn't what I expected to happened. It was scary and shocking at the same time. After finishing fishing, my family and I head back and our car was break into with a crack on window that glass all shattered down on the rock floor. Our car is really old, so of course, someone will eventually break into it because nowadays, cars have security sound when someone tries to break in into their car. Nestled in a nice upscale neighborhood along the banks of the Sacramento River it is a treat and a half. Quiet, serene. Amenities are path for jogging and biking, fishng, Boat launch. Tennis anyone? Or if you want to just relax under the trees lying on the green grass. I just moved from Texas and there is no sitting in the grass. Besides the various bugs, fire ants are not fun nor friendly. Very nice little park with soccer fields, a playground, very nice public restrooms and copious parking. Some of the parking is intended for vehicles with boat trailers using the adjacent boat ramp providing access to the Sacramento River. Many people use the park on weekends to access the river levee trail for walking and bicycling, but usage falls way down on weekdays. A short walk South leads to a dirt road sloping down towards the river. Several picnic tables are set up there for having a meal by the river. Bank fishing spots are available in multiple locations.
