Pipe's Bridge — Attraction in Sacramento

02/14/2025 update: The bikeway is slowly healing. It finally feels like a safe and reliable travel option now that the laws seem to be consistently enforced now. 10/25/2024 update: The entire Sacramento Northern Bikeway (north and south of Pipe's Bridge) is clear of camps and loose dogs. First time in my 4 years of commuting that area! Still a lot of trash and debris to clean up. Let's see how long it lasts. Incredibly unsafe to travel through this area, though unfortunately I have to commute through it. Huge illegal camping presence often blocking the paved right-of-way, with loose, aggressive dogs roaming the entire bikeway. Confirmed stolen bicycles are being "chopped" in this area. City of Sacramento has yet to address the issue even after numerous reports with video evidence. This is a low priority area for them, so proceed with caution and...

Very very unsafe. Don't take any routes through here if at all possible. Multiple large homeless encampments before and after the bridge, lots of aggressive dogs, zero lighting, no non-homeless traffic, businesses, or anything else that might deter someone taking...

Tough to ride a bike through with the huge number of homeless and dogs. The path is great but it's super sketchy. Maybe I came at the wrong time but be ready to stop and swerve through the homeless. the smell isn't...
